Hi all--

We are going to WDW Nov 13-20. My husband is a golfer and would like to do a couple of rounds while we are there. Any suggestions on which courses would be good for him to try? He would be a single golfer, if that makes a difference. (I mini golf, but don't have the tolerance for the real thing!)

We are staying at Port Orleans-Riverside.

Thanks fo the advice!!

Karla :)

I have NO CLUE about which courses are best - but there IS one between POR and DTD - so that might be one option.

I was concerned with the weather, then noticed you're not going until November - so it should be close to perfect golf weather then!

While I haven't played at WDW (someday!) I am a big golf fan.

When the PGA Tour comes to town for the Children's Miracle Network Classic, they play on the Magnolia and Palm courses. My guess is that these are the nicest of the courses.

Keeping an eye on this thread. DH likes to golf too, but wouldn't go by himself on our trip. HOWEVER, his best friend lives in Georgia and will probably head down to see us while we are there and they can go!!!

In the "deals" section on the WDW website, there was some type of deal going on for two days of golf. I really didn't dig deep into it since I won't be able to play when we go.

If anyone is going next month, there is a deal for one of the weekends (can't remember which). The deal is unlimited golf all day for $59. You can play different courses all day if you choose to also. That is a great deal.

I think September is still considered "HOT" for golfers (I know I consider it hot!). You're also likely to find deals for afternoon tee times. That's because very few people can handle the afternoon heat! So 'play all day' may not be such a great deal!

I forget about how different the Orlando heat is as compared to our Sacramento heat. I could play all day in 100+ temps here in California. I remember playing baseball vs Stetson University (near Daytona Beach I think it was) in college and it was reaching the 90 degree mark that day and it was completely unbearable.

I asked my DH (who is a golfer and has played at disney several times) and he said to ask about any specials, all the courses are great but can be $$$.

If he just wants to golf and will go off property, there are many great courses in the area that don't charge "resort" prices. If you're interested I can get the names from him.

The $59.00 is not total price for all day. Check the official Disney website for all the details based on your particular situation. DVC member and/or resort guest? $50 "membership" fee will get you 25-40% off regular pricing. There is also special pricing for twilight (after 3pm). All depends on the time of year you will be there. There is the Magnolia, Palms, Buena Vista course and Oak Trails, which is a 9 -hole walking course ($20 for nine holes).
