Guys, I've done this several times in the past without problems, it's legit. And for the record...I'm getting the 1 day park hoppers for $60/each...that's a saving of $100...it's a bargain!

so what you are saying is that all the rest of us have been paying the price that Disney has asked us to pay like a bunch of suckers. Probably even more than we would have if other people werent scamming the system.

I don't think that word means what you think it means. ;)

Adrienne

I was thinking the same thing!

Sure you will probably get away with it. But, what if you don't? It's just not worth it to me. Many people on here have reported seeing people turned away. Honestly, I am surprised DL is taking so long to implement the finger thingies.

I would probably get away with dropping a candy bar in my pocket when I'm picking up prescriptions at the pharmacy, a $0.90 savings! It's a bargain.

Doesn't make it right.

Or how about just doing the right thing even if you wont get caught. In the Air Force we just call that Integrity

So nice it needed to be said twice.

This is more like a big candy bar that has a legal disclaimer on it telling the purchaser that only they can eat it and not share it. But you buy it and cut it in half and sell the parts. You may have cheated the candy bar maker from selling another bar, but he still got paid for one.

Lets talk apples to apples. Your example is more like somebody robbing a ticket from the booth.

It would be fully used after your one day of use.

If it's so legit tell the ticket taker where you got the ticket and see what happens.

Also, someone mentioned trespass warnings. Disney takes their trespass warnings very seriously and they will have you arrested if you are found back on property.

Stealing is stealing.

If you notice I didn't say it was the ethical thing to do.

Personally I think Disney probably makes out pretty good on these tickets that are broken up. Sure they don't get that extra ticket but each person that uses a day buys food and other stuff.

Okay Question:
Is it illegal for a SoCal resident to buy tickets at Vons and give them to us? We are from NorCal.
We did this once when I was 10 or so. My cousin lives down there and suprised us with them. This thread just got me to thinking about that.
Usually we just buy them online or through AAA.

Usually we just buy them online or through AAA.Many of us have contacted Disneyland directly about this issue. Disney says the SoCal person may buy up to 8 for "friends and family". When I specifically asked "Can a person from N Ca use the ticket if a SoCal person purchases it?" the answer was "Yes. You need to be a SoCal to purchase, not use."

Unless they also find a way to scam themselves into free food and "other stuff" whatever that is.

well they have to go get a birthday button so they get more than one, then over to the bakery condiment stand to pick up butter and sugar to make treats...then go find another condiment stand for mustard and mayo and use that on the dry sandwhiches they tucked in their pockets.::|:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Well the same person who is so cheap that they participate in a scam on Disney to trim down the cost of tickets by a couple of bucks is the same kind of person who would go through the tortilla factory 100 times if they could get away with it.

We just got back from a trip where my son and his girlfriend joined us for 2.5 days. We bought them both 3 day AAA hopper passes for part of their Christmas present and also converted their hoppers to SoCal annual passes on their third day. The CM asked them what day they first used their tickets, which park they entered and what time it was. They were stumbling just a bit trying to remember what time they entered Disneyland on Friday so I started to answer for them and the CM shushed me. It was pretty funny. The CM told us they are really cracking down on this and I don't blame them. We did have a little issue when we hopped over to CA later-The CM's wouldn't let them in because it was a SoCal block-out day. We had to go to a ticket booth and explain that they converted with a valid pass. The CM there issued a couple vouchers for them to use the rest of the day without even a fuss. Overall a pleasant experience doing it totally legit. :D

What I've done the last few times I've visited Disneyland is buy my tickets on eBay from a company that sets up shop in a local office building near the park and I pick the tickets up the morning of and drop them back off that same night when I leave.

Is this illegal? I sure hope not!

It's not a one day park hopper, we just get to "rent" it for one day and then we return it.

I believe they have multiple days on the tickets, we're just using them for one day and I'm sure this company pimps them out to others as well...hence their profits!

Eh, who cares? I certainly don't, especially not since Disney thinks $100+/person is appropriate for admission!

All the people who pay the $100 care- why do you think they have to keep raising tickets prices? Because of scammers. But, if you can't afford a ticket, you shouldn't go- plain and simple.
