First consider the source of any answers here, including mine of course.
Also consider it's $25 for the REST of the YEAR as many times as you want to go with the Season Pass.
2. I'm 59 and Lori is murphle marpth..and we both really feel comfortable there..the grounds are 1st class... the rides are NOT thrill rides but they are very well done and themed...the Mini Land is awesome no matter what your age...the food is inexpensive and good and what the heck it's $25 bucks! There are only three rides you can not go on in the whole 128 acres.
IF you still have a sence of childhood and fantasy...you'll probably enjoy the day very much. And besides a SEASON pass through Dec. 25th is $25!
I first went there on my Birthday and it was a wonderful day all around so that may color my report...but did I mention it's $25?
Bottom line is it is a professionaly run and built Theme Park of the highest calibur..though aimed at a younger deomgraphic, they were smart enough to pack in alot for adults to enjoy at least once.
By the way..we see other couples and groups there with out kids all the time...as well as college age...just leave any edge and any attitude in DCA and come on down!

We had season passes with our kids for a year and it is definitely better if you have a kid to watch on all the rides and do the hands on thing. Having said that, there is enough to get your money's worth (add in $25 to go, $6 for parking, gas to get there from OC, food) in the miniature lands and some of the rides. Also, if you are a lego guy, they have bins and bins of legos you can use to build whatever. In one place you can build a car and then race it down a track, very cool. If you are a lego fan, yes. If not, strong maybe.

How about this variation...

What do you think of an over 20 going by herself? I'm thinking about checking it out myself since somewhere I heard that it's only $25 for the rest of the year until Christmas...can you believe that?!;)

I'm also thinking about checking it out first because I'd be taking a toddler (under 2), and I'm not sure there'll be enough to keep her amused.

Any comments? Suggestions?

That place was built for young children. We took ours there when they were 2 and 4 and they loved it. It is really designed for the young kids. I would definately take a chance on it with a toddler. If it is during the summer, bring a change of clothes and they can play in the water area.

Sounds great, thanks! I was worried that she'd be too small for everything...water...oh great, my little dumpling is going to turn into a soaked dumpling! She's definitely a duck out of water!:D

Note to Dlandmom...there are numerous rides with HIEGHT requirements. Just call the number on the website...you'll get a live person after a prompt or two.
BUT there are enough things that she can do to make up for the coasters and such. There is a land there for real little ones (Duplo stuff). The real nice thing is...except for three rides, adults can accompany there tikes on most everything and the seats are large and comfy.
The shows are 'ok' but I would stay clear of the awful Life on Mars show and the rest of them might just be boring to her....and you. EXCEPT for the ROCK GROUP!
(If Disney can consider a 1/2 tortilla as an attraction...I can consider The Rock Group as a show.) They are Too Cool!

Also the real demographic being aimed at these days is the 9-10-12 year olds who buy Legos...but there's lots for the little guys and the good news is..next years additions will be for the tykes since this year aimed at the older demo (Technic etc.)

Dlandmom - did you end up going? If you haven't gone yet, I recommend "The Big Test" show. It is alot of fun and everyone (adults and kids) seems to enjoy it. It is a little loud in a few spots, but a good all around time.

Nope, haven't gone yet. I'd still like to try it soon...maybe I can swing it on a weekday if I don't have too much going on at work!;)

I went as media before the official opening, that was then i went a couple months later. My eperience was that you have to see the towns and lego sculptures. if you've ever played with legos it's a great tribute to them. the rides arent much excite ment, but you can do the whole park in a day. I say go, my brother enjoyed it he was 26, or so. Any kind of lego fan would enjoy it.

DoodleDuck, or another Legoland guest- Could you let me know what those three rides that can't accomodate adults are? I'm thinking of planning to head out there with my 3 year old son, and worry a bit about leaving him unattended.

Thanks!

Little Dinky kiddie rides are NOT un attended...not to worry...in fact there is even a TINY train that adults can get on with the kids...
There is a Jousting Horse ride where the kids are on their own as they jaunt through the themed country side...but the tykes are nailed down and it's very gentle.
Not to worry.
Enjoy!!!!!

I finally got to go to Legoland just a couple of days ago, and I have to say it's really fun if you enjoy Legos as I do (I'm 31, and I still like Lego, because they seem to always come out with new and exciting toys.) The best part of the park is Miniland. One of the signs actually say that it took the builders three years to construct the entire Miniland cities! All in all, Legoland is very impressive, even if you don't like Lego too much, because there is so much to see and do here, especially for kids.
