I love Sooner or Later in the Splash Mountain queue....I wish Disney would release the Song of the South score on CD, but in these PC times...ain't gonna happen. I also love the music on Main St and the Broadway/Hollywood overtures you hear at DHS in front of the Great Movie Ride...

Sure. After work I can throw a list up here. Keep in mind, I am not talking about anything that you can get from the Disney-produced soundtracks. Im more referring to things like background music for certain attractions as well as pre-show music for Illuminations. (as examples) You know - music that you dont really pay attention to, but still love. :)

Yes! That is exactly what I am looking for! I want area music and I am still hunting down attraction music too, but that is hard as well. Thank you so much!

A few years ago, I had my ballet class dance to "Behind the Waterfall"...such a very pretty song.

And this year, I had my Modern class dance to "Test Track"...it went off very well and was a hit with the audience!

For my Irish classes, I've used "Off Kilter" songs...they ROCK! LOL!

And, no kidding...my students see me as Ms. Steph the Disney Person because I do use a lot of Disney songs for classes.

One of my students just texted me from EPCOT (she was on her Sr. Trip)saying..."Ms. Steph! I'm on Test Track...it's our song!!!" I felt so happy!!! :D

For me personally, just the background music of all the Parks is amazing. I wonder who really listens to it. I can't imagine walking around and not taking in the background music.

PS

Hennie Bekker is also an amazing composer. He has some CD's that were produced for the AKL. Ohhhhh...he's my favorite! :fez::fez::fez:

There used to be a website that listed all of the songs played as background area music. Anybody have that link?
Here is a primer (http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/syltguides/fullview/DW6T5OD58P37) in regards to the Illuminations pre-show music. Great info. That site is what kinda started my near-obsession of collecting as much music that is used on Disney property as possible.

Here is the list of music that I gathered over the past couple of years. I got a lot of this info from Live365 stations such as MouseWorld Radio, Radio Buena Vista, D-Magic radio and others.

The first several are mentioned in the primer mentioned above and the vast majority were purchased from iTunes. Others, I bought CD from Amazon and other local stores.

Being off advancing years, one off my favourite pastimes is just sitting listening to all the music whilst waiting on the grandkids coming off rides, feet tapping all the time.

Standing In Motion - Yanni

Funny story about this song. Last July we were starting to put together music for the upcoming solo and duet dances we had to teacher. My boss wanted to use something different and all she kept telling me was that she found something awesome by Yanni. I finally heard the student practicing in one of the rooms and her and I were in the other room. I look at her and say "You picked the pre-show music to Illuminations?" Yeahh.....I got a real strange look on that one.

Thanks so much GusMan! I can't wait to start searching for those.

Does anyone know what CD would have attraction music on it?

Kristen,

On Amazon.com there are a few CD's related in this area of music you may be searching for.

One is Epcot Illuminations and the other is Epcot: Tapestry of Dreams.

"Promise" is so beautiful...my daughter danced to that...and did I cry...ummmmm no...shhhh...Mom didn't cry...:crying:

Good luck searching...being inspired is part of the fun! :)

There are too many favorites to choose just one, but I would have to say the Big Band background music on Sunset Blvd. "gets" my wife and I every time we hear it. Two pieces that are at the top are "Sing, Sing, Sing", performed by Benny Goodman, and a song from the ToT lobby, "We'll Meet Again", sung by Vera Lynn. Every time I hear that, I picture myself walking in through the doors to the lobby. Awesome that a tune can do that to you!

I agree with previous posters, live365.com is a great place to get your Disney music fix, I especially like the Radio Buena Vista, and DVCRadio stations.

Do you have to pay?
Nope... Free app and appears to be free to use as there is no login and does not appear to be associated with Live365.

I mentioned this earlier but I have THE BEST 2 disc set from disneyLAND that has pretty much all the attraction AND park/land background music and I LOVE IT! Nothing like this for WDW out there????

Absolutely. There's been a WDW Music of the Parks disc out there for many years. It changes over the years - I have 4 or 5 of them. Some tunes like Pirates or the HM or small world are on almost every release, while other songs like the Fantasyland castle entryway medley or some of the Main Street songs are unique to one version. That's why I check every visit to see if they've changed the disc enough to warrant another purchase.
