I think that MP should run a column on how it would be wonderful PR for the DLR to extend APs of all deployed military service personal.

Does it not seem strange that if they gave all DEPLOYED members an AP that they would be unable to use them? Or was that your plan to just have it LOOK like a big gesture? ;)

the idea would be that after they came home the APs would be extended the time they were gone and unable to use them.

While I agree that it might be great PR for Disney, I fail to see how it would make a good article for MousePlanet. You yourself only have one sentence to say on the subject (and one other clarifying your OP). This seems more like something you should submit for a Mailbag Column or something. So write it up and send it to the appropriate person.

I dunno, I just thought the "suits" would read it since they do read MP and then all of a sudden get a brilliant idea and offer it.

So write a letter to the suits. Or to Guest Relations. Or to whatever office handles APs. Or to someone who does a mailbag on MousePlanet. Or to someone who runs a column at another site. A few sentences won't make a column (and frankly, I woudn't read an entire article on the idea itself), but a few sentences makes a good email or business letter.

Like I said, I agree it might be good PR. And there's nothing stopping you from spreading this idea. But I wouldn't count on the suits reading a thread about an article suggestion in the MousePad columns discussion forum. If you really want it, go after it.

I posted my idea because the editors of MP have mentioned if we have an idea for an article to post it instead of griping about it all the time! I did not post this to get it torn to shreds!!! :mad:

If you cannot understand that I am not putting down your idea and that I am trying to help you to find an appropriate way to act upon it, there's really nothing more I can say on this subject. I won't clarify my point of view again.

That said, this is a discussion forum. If you do not want your ideas to be discussed, you can email them privately to Alex.

The entire reason I posted it here is because Alex and a few other Planet writers said that if you have ideas for articles POST THEM!!!!!!! So thats what I did.

You can discuss my idea all you want but I do not want you tearing to it to shreads or telling me it is in the wrong place when there have been discussions about POSTING YOUR IDEAS (vs. all the griping about MP thats been going on)! I don't expect the "suits" to read the Pad, however I *know* that Alex and other writers DO read the Pad. Thats why its here! I *could have* e-mailed Alex had I thought about emailing Alex to begin with. But I did't and its now here.

I do think what you suggest has merit and if an appropriate article can be found (the idea on its own probably isn't enough to justify an entire article) I'll keep it in mind.

What Matterhorn Fan suggest, though, is a good idea as well. If you think it is a good idea, don't necessarily wait an see if we are able to use it. Even if we agree with the idea, we may not be able to use it, or may not be able to use it soon. If you suggest it to Disney directly as well, you can at least know it is presented to them in some form.
