As some of you may know, WDW has been offering an incredible discount at on-site hotels for the last couple months. The AP discount in particular has evidentally been extended to December...

Anyhow, I didn't think I could afford a vacation but after thinking about it for a while, how I could afford to pass up such a good deal?!

Called CRO today and got an incredible $49/night for AllStars Music (AllStars Movies was sold out) for the second week in October! I can't imagine staying on-site for such a cheap rate and that there was still availability for October for this price. :-)

Plus, I have my AP already so I'm good to go. Spectromagic and the 100th Birthday Celebration here I come...

Anyone else taking advantage of this good deal?

Yep.. :) $49 at Music for the first week in December! (see my post in the Lounge about the current airfare deals, too)

Got ya beat this time! (But only because of special circumstances....)

I won airline tickets at last year's office Christmas party so I think that is as cheap as you can get!

National Car Rental has a great rate for $109/week for an economy car.

In fact, the most expensive part of this trip will be boarding my pets. Ouch! *That* will be expensive... :(

Andrew, just don't get tickets to the MVMCP for a weekend night. Go during mid-week, the crowds will be much lighter. I'm jealous though that you'll get to enjoy the Osbourne Lights. So over-the-top and so spectacular!! :D

Yes, I remember your report from last year (http://www.mouseplanet.com/wdwupdate/122100.htm). Actually I had no plans to go to the MVMCP but I suppose I ought to check with the rest of the party... ;)

I'm looking forward to that, too, having never been to WDW during the "holiday season".

i think i'd be embarrassed to say how many times i'm taking advantage of the AP resort discounts this year. :p

they (discounts) are incredible, aren't they?
if only APs worked at all Disney parks... WDW, DL, Tokyo, Paris, etc.

These great AP rates got me in trouble, Sheila!!:)

We had gone last August (again an AP special of $89/night) and swore never to do it again because of the heat and humidity.

Then I read your post and made an innocent phone call and voila! After a campaign to convice my husband what a great rate that was, we are heading down end of this week. Got $98 at Port Orleans (I paid approx $180 plus tax in April during "Holiday season").

I mean we have the AP's just sitting around doing nothing, right???;)

So throwing caution to the wind, Hi ho, Hi ho it's off to WDW we go!:D

Ahhh. So my evil plan is working! ;) (Too bad I don't make any commission on this, eh?)

Oh yeah! My first trip to WDW was in August too. Never, ever again. It's bad enough sitting here today in SoCal with high temps and high humidity -- at least *here*, I know this stuff will go away in a day or two....

Yup. That's exactly how I see/rationalize it. It's like throwing money away if I don't go again. lol. ;)

Have a great time on your trip. Hopefully, some of the 100th Bday celebration stuff will be up and running.

Sheila,

I think you should have made a commission on this!

My very first trip was to WDW was back in 1976 in August and I avoided August until 2000 - that's how bad the first impression was. We always go in springtime. This Easter we had a couple of brutally hot days and then a cold snap one morning we had to put on jeans and sweats! Talk about your temperature changes!!

Last year we were lucky enough to get 3 trips out of our AP's! That is what I call good mileage!:)

Gee do you think some of the 100th bday stuff will be ready by then? That would be fantastic!
