We really liked 50's Prime Time Cafe (DS), Boatwright's (POR), Le Cellier (EPCOT), Liberty Tree Tavern (MK), Sci Fi Dine in Theater (DS) and for dinner shows try Spirit of Aloha Show (Poly)!

How old are the children, and of what gender? Little girls, under the age of 9 or so, would probably enjoy a princess character meal. Kids of either gender, of that age range, enjoy the simple games during the meal, at 'Ohana or Whispering Canyon cafe, or other character meals. If a kid can sit through a show, and doesn't mind the noise, the Hoop De Doo review is a lot of fun.

If you're looking to eat around Epcot, you can't go wrong with just about all of the eateries. Don't forget about the Coral Reef in Futureworld - great (pricey!) seafood with an incredible glass wall looking into the Seas lagoon. I've enjoyed meals at the Rose & Crown, Le Cellier, Chefs de France, Bistro de Paris (a bit more upscale), Marrakesh, Yakitori, Tutto Italia, the Biergarten, Nine Dragons, and the San Angel Inn, not to mention the Coral Reef and the Garden Grill in Futureworld. Great dining experiences - you won't run out of places to eat just in Epcot alone!

If you are staying at the Yacht Club, you won't even need to travel far from your room!! The Yachtsman Steakhouse is wonderful as is Beaches n Cream. Obviously the Yachtsman is more formal whereas Beaches is for a good burger. Those would be my two top choices if you want to stay near "home." If you are willing to travel, I would suggest California Grill in the Contemporary Hotel. It has a great view with really good food. As mentioned earlier, the Prime Time Cafe at Hollywood Studios has a really fun atmosphere with good food too. EPCOT has good restaurants - it just depends what cruisine you like :)

I do Totally agree with this post, The Yachtsman Steakhouse is by far the best on the property. If you do go to Hollywood studios for lunch, the Disney playhouse kids perform at Hollywood and Vine, That is great fun to watch.
If you go to EPCOT I personally would stay away from Le Celliar, that was by far the worst meal I had ever eaten at Disney, But it is your choice.

My DD would also say the character entertainment at Hollywood and Vine is a blast. My DS would rather have pulled his own eyelashes out than joined in with this though ( ;) ), but he did like the food, despite the fact it gets bad reviews from many. As for Le Cellier. My family loved it here, it was DH's favourite.

You got a spelling joke? There's my shock for the day.

Ohana and Teppan Edo - yes - family friendly, fun, and very good food.
I would say that Le Cellier is also a good choice, but I would go for lunch if not on the dining plan. (Done it for lunch and dinner and lunch was the same excellent experience with a slightly different menu. Many dinner items still there but slightly less expensive.)
San Angel Cantina, for some reason, really hits the spot with us.
I also loved Rose and Crown, but it did not get as high of reviews from the rest of my family. (Maybe it was because I already drank most of my "Imperial Sampler" by the time dinner came!
Want a snack - Chocolate Mousse over at Boulangerie Patisserie is one to try for sure!!
If you want to try something around the Epcot Resort area - I would say Beaches and Cream is a place to get a great lunch and some great ice cream in the evening. (Most treats are big enough to share!!) Also the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe at BC is one of our faves - not to mention it's clam bake in the evening.
I've been to the Big River Grille by the BW and to be honest - was not impressed. Service was good and all, but the food just seemed dry and lacking flavor. I might be willing to give it another shot, though, and try something else.

Wow, you sure had different food than I did. I had chicken and it was really good. I even remebmer the veggies (summer squashes, which I'm not a fan of AT ALL) were tasty.

Yea, I really should have tried something else to be honest. Its just that we were all really really tired after a long, hot day. That's kinda way I would likely try it again - just to give it a fair shot.
But it was real convenient being that we were staying at the BWV's. :)

Second on Rose & Crown. We ate there on our honeymoon and have eaten there every time since. (Except the upcoming one, where we are being more budget-minded. I gave the fam a choice between Rose & Crown and Raglan Road and RR won hands down).
My Big River meal was mediocre, but in all fairness, it was years ago. We simply haven't been back.

I like eating lunch out on the patio at the Rose & Crown. Great fish & chips while watching the boats go by. And ls, here we go again - most people think that Le Cellier is one of the best restaurants in Epcot, me included. I suggest trying it again sometime - you must have really had an off night.

All excellent advice! Here's something that surprised me. On a trip last October, we went to the Biergarten for lunch by my parents' request. We wouldn't have picked it ourselves, I thought our 3-yr-old would be bored and hungry. Not so. He loved the musical entertainment ("Look at the giant horns, Daddy!"), enjoyed salad, mac & cheese, bread and meatballs, and between sets, danced his little heart out on the stage floor with a tiny Cinderella. He still talks about that lunch!
(There's a lot more than the food I listed above. We all were very impressed by the smorgasbord of delicious German cuisine.)

I 3rd the Rose & Crown. We had the Fish & Chips there and it was delicious! And if get a seat on the patio bonus!
