Whats the scoop? towerofterrorfreak 02-20-2003, 03:55 PM last year my wife said she wanted to do the disney cruise for vacation, of course I was like too exspensive, but after looking into it for just a little more than a week in wdw would have been we got the land and sea package. Not knowing what i was getting into I went but wasn't liking the price..........Once you step foot on the boat and see what there is to do ALL WORRIES GO AWAY. The food is excellent, the staff is outstanding and the shows are great. Im not into disney like my wife or son..but this was awesome. WE ARE DEFINATELY GOING TO BE DOING IT AGAIN REAL SOON. I do have a little bit of advice...if at all possible go in May or before, because in June (summer) the price is way more than in May, and why pay even more for the same trip. Pirate Girl 02-20-2003, 08:39 PM Great thanks. I thought it might be worth it, but I wanted to know for sure. Niwel 02-20-2003, 09:35 PM I've gone on Princess, Carnival and RCCL -- and going on Disney is the most enjoyable time you could imagine. Everything is included (FOOD FOOD FOOD). I've gone in June on the 4-day Wonder and I'll be going on a seven day Western trip on the Magic in January (off season so it's cheaper). GO GO GO GO GO GO GO Then you'll want to go back for more! :) HTHBellcaptain 02-28-2003, 08:04 PM I think the cruise is definately worth the money. Once your onboard, you don't have to spend a dime unless you want to. Everything is included in the price. disneyholic family 03-11-2003, 09:14 PM also, you can go in the cheapest room and get exactly the same fine service... there is no difference in the service, regardless of the level of room you stay in...... we stayed in one of the most expensive categories (concierge) and the only difference was the room itself..... all the facilities and services are equal for everyone on board.... i definitely think the disney cruise is worth the money..... we've been on super incredible vacations all over the world, but the best vacation we've ever had was the 3 day cruise on the Disney Wonder (we took the 3 day because we weren't sure if we'd get seasick......i have very very serious motion sickness problems so i figured we'd try the 3 day first to see how it goes.....it was fine....no problems at all).... bottom line.....i highly recommend the disney cruise...we can't wait to be able to do it again... mad4mky 03-12-2003, 01:29 PM Go! Hubby and I went without our 3 kids...and had a ball! We were on The Disney Magic...and enjoyed every second aboard that ship. The shows are great. The service is great. The atmosphere great. And if you love Disney and Mickey Mouse...you'll be in heaven. Defintely worth it to try it out...:D familyoffive 04-11-2003, 12:45 PM My family and I have been on several cruise and I would say that the Disney cruise is very high priced. My family of 5 could go on three or four WDW vacations before coming close to the $5000+ for a Disney cruise. Whille the ship and island are nice, it is hard to justify the expense for a family over4. Disney markets "specials" all of the time, but they normally exclude cabins that accommodate 5 or more. If your family is smaller, try and be flexible and you can take advantage of last minute cruise bargains, saving big dollars. DisneyBuffalo 04-13-2003, 11:25 AM Yes i think it's definetly worth the money!!!!! Me and my family have an excellent time everytime we go. Originally we thought it was too expensive, but after we took the trip for the first time we enjoyed it soo much we try going every year now. The food and staff are great. and the entertainment selection is great. there is soo much to do, that you could never be board. Castaway Cay is gorgeous and lots of fun. We spend many hours there just playing around and having fun. Its very oriented for every age group. NO one is left out. ITS AWESOME!!!!!! WE LOVE IT!!!!! in fact we are booked to go on it in august.(our 3rd time in 4 years)!!! hehe :) sjd 05-13-2003, 12:05 PM I would recommend going at least once. It is definitely pricey. I recommend going off-season, getting the cheapest room (or often category 10 is the same price as 12) and just doing the three nighter. To do the Eastern or Western caribbean is much cheaper on another line. We went in September and actually got upgraded from a 10 to a 7!! It rained a little, but they worked harder to make you happy. It is a very expensive three day experience. But you are paying for the Disney name. I am a Disney-a-holic, so it was worth it to do it once. The atmosphere is like being in a Disney park, so it is nothing but happy and exciting from the get-go. The staff was outstanding, and the meals were fantastic. (Not as plentiful as other cruise lines). Go at least once. It was fun. Every inch of the ship is "Disney-fied". Even the lamp shades in your room have Mickeys on them. Stacy fshagan 05-13-2003, 08:54 PM FamilyofFive ... it does get expensive when you are buying a family suite. We have two daughters. We looked at that for our first cruise, but had an ideal situation ... our oldest was 18, so we booked four adults in two rooms in the cheapest level. Paid $799 each for the week, with a four day stay at Port Orleans Riverside to begin the vacation. We had first stayed for a week at WDW at one of the "Home Away from Home" resorts ... very expensive. The next trip we stayed off-site, and while we enjoyed ourselves, we spent nearly as much as the advertisements for the on-site moderate resorts. The third trip was the cruise, and we first looked at booking a family suite, but that was more than the $3200 we paid by having two adjoining cabins. That might not be possible with younger children, but you might be able to plan adjoining rooms and have one adult stay in one room with half the kids, the other in the other room with the other half. When you open the door between the rooms, its basically like being just a bedroom away from the kids. You do have to pay the full price for two adults in each room, so one of the kids costs more, but it might work out better in the end. It did for us. |
