Just wanted to say it's a pleasure to read such excellent writing and insightful analysis. Welcome back to the front page, Alex :)

Yes, very nicely done, Alex. Very well written, both in content and style.

And you had both of the new stories today! :)

My thoughts exactly.

Thanks Alex.

One comment, though. The statement about Aladdin not being about the CA theme may be correct, but it seemed a little off as well. The shows in the theaters in Hollywood aren't only about CA, why should the theaters in DCA be subjected to the theme? This would follow that only shows on Broadway can only be about New York.

Of course Alex was only stating the truth (Aladdin isn't about CA), and the rest of what he said was right on. But in a theater, it seems the theme is of less concequence than the quality of the show. And while Millionaire has nothing to do with CA, it is still a working set. A strech I know, but still valid as CA IMHO.

First of all, though my name ended up being most prominent, it was very much a collaberative effort with Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix.

And I agree, Rstar, that the shows inside the Hyperion don't have to support the theme, the point was more to show that it also wasn't bolstering it.

The existence of the Hyperion does fit with the Hollywood theme of the area, but it also isn't something particularly unique to Hollywood, or even California.

Oh, and thank you very much. You all get five bonus points in the next MouseAdventure!

Of course, points are worth anything in that one.

Yes, I had a feeling that AVP helped out a lot. Esspecially with the "DL Update". So, thanks Adrienne!

And we're not just kissing up. It's great to see DL reports, and have them not be so negitive.

But we'll take the points just the same;) ..

Also, I had a feeling that's what you meant. Just wasn't real clear. However, I have to agree with you and the other critics, the theme is so problematic that it shows in every change to DCA. The proof is in the putting as they say (it is PUTTING, isn't it? Or is it PUDDING??). You get the idea......

Pudding. The original quote was (apparently) "the proof of the pudding is in the eating." That is, you can't tell about something's value until you put it to its intended use.

I thought it was a great article. I especially liked the summation of the reason's behind DCA's low attendance, put forth by Disney. I remember an unnamed columnist from another site putting these forward like she was reading them from a script (which she probably was.) Keep up the good work.

HA! So they are worth something. :D

Kidding, anyhow, a good artical. A roller coaster of DCA so to speak, it's ups it's down, and a good read. 5/5 for that one! :)

GREAT ARTICAL! I agree that DCA does have hope and that, just like Disneyland, it just had a rough begginning. (Black Monday (or was it Sunday?) comes to mind)
