Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what the deal is with the limited edition 50th anniversary monorail pins.

As you may know, Disney will offer pins that correspond with anniversaries and other special events in the park. This year they did a couple of pins that commemorated the opening of the Matterhorn('59), the Monorail('59), Splash Mountain('89) and others.

I have a relative that collects such pins but I cant find them in the park. I'm not talking about the regular monorail pins but the 50th anniversary ones. I think they issued about three different styles.

If anyone knows where these can be found in or around the park, it would really be helpful

Thanks!

They came out this past summer, so that may be why you're having trouble finding them, if they're sold out.

Your best bet is probably Little Green Men Store Command (the store at the exit of the Buzz Lightyear ride). That tends to have the most things.

I remember this pin coming out (http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=69992&sid=6538.1258496454), and this box set as well (http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=69993&sid=6538.1258496454).

You might also check the store in Frontierland and the store in New Orleans Square as well as the Five and Dime in Toontown and the store in Downtown Disney. Those stores usually have the best selection.

Cast Members only could buy this and it is Limited (LE) to 500 made. You would have to have a CM friend buy one when they came out or currently check with traders online and in parks.

LE 1000 and it came out May, 2009. It was sold in the pin carts and shops that sell pins. It would have been sold in the Emporium, World of Disney, the shop across from Enginear Toys, the shop in Tomorrowland across from Star Traders, the shop in New Orleans Square, and the shop across from Ariel's Grotto.

The box set that was earlier mentioned. LE 500
This might also have been sold in the gallery on Main Street as they sometimes carry LE pins that are rare or valuable or unique. I got some nice train pins there.

Since these came out in May they may only be available in trade or from resellers.

That site is official and lets you know what is coming up.

I've seen the box set mentioned above in the Frontierland store. I would've bought but it was almost $100. Looked like a really nice set, though.
