Would a double jogging stroller (the kind that also converts to a bike trailer) be too large to be able to navigate through the parks next week? I guess I had 3 things that game to mind regarding whether or not to even try...

1. Too much of a pain for us
2. Too much of a pain for everyone else
3. Too out of the ordinary or expensive looking to risk leaving it in the stroller areas (all though we did get it pretty cheap...)

Strollers larger than 36" x 52" (which mirrors the rental stroller sizes)

Put your name on the item and it will not be stolen. Sometimes strollers get moved however so leave your name on it in case you get seperated and in case you happen to be that one in a million who does get a stroller stolen or borrowed.

You can use a sling for carrying an infant into the rides and that really is a handy thing to have if you have a small child. You can park then do rides and stuff like at Fantasyland. It will not be a bother.

I say take the stroller unless it is a super duper large one that would not be easy to use. It makes a good crash pad for kids and an easy way to carry all your stuff.

ACK! I went to edit and it deleted the entire post!

All three of your concerns are valid with a large stroller.

The walkways at Disneyland can get very congested and/or narrow which both pose challenges with a large stroller and I do think that these are the more pressing of the three concerns on your list. Although it is not common, strollers do get stolen at Disneyland. Sometimes they're looted for the contents of their baskets, dumped elsewhere and found later by security. Other times they disappear.

Based on personal experience with a variety of strollers and stroller sizes over the past 11 years, no, I would not take a stroller this big to Disneyland. I know that double jogging stroller owners do get rather defensive on this topic but if you have an option to take a smaller stroller or even two smaller strollers, I think that is the better choice.

Come to think of it, I thinks its actually only single wide, but we have fit both kids in it before. It has the big canvas side that collapse down and is kind of boxy looking. It has 3 bike style tires which are a lot easier to push, but I am a little nervous if the front wheel would bump into people or be hard for others to see and be a tripping hazard

I think we will bring it as an option. Use smaller ones even a rental maybe for our older son and then see if we see any similar models in the park our first day and learn from observing others... :)

Are the current strollers 3 or 4 wheeled? I am seeing images of both in google and the dates of the photos are both from the spring.

I remember using a 3 wheel one a couple years ago. It was taller than a regular umbrella stroller and was easier to push, we all loved it (those riding and those pushing)....

Also I heard you used to be able to add a stroller rental pass to your AP similar to adding parking. Is that option still available?

Sorry for all of the extra questions and the double thread post. I thought I was posting that other entry in another forum...

My mistake its getting a little late!

We took a double jogger last time. Loved it. At times it was hard to navigate crowds (usually getting in and out of fireworks, F!, parades) but other than that it was great. DD4 sat on the front so we actually transported 2 kiddos on it.

I see those bike trailers there all the time.

I have been with a double wide jogger and usually they aren't prohibitively wide (mine have all been under 31" wide).

I have a 3 and 4 1/2 year old, and I have a double decker stroller now, and both can sleep for naps or the walk back to the car / hotel.

When I had 3 kids in strollers I alwyas brought single ones for each of them. This being said we always had four adults with us to handle all of our strollers. This way if one was sleeping but the others were not they wouldn't bother the sleeping one. I saw lots of jogger strollers on my recent trip to WDW and the rentals kinda have that jogger style look to them too. I say whatever you are comfortable pushing and the kids are comfortable riding in...take it. Put something like a scarf or bright bow or something that will make it stand out in the sea of strollers. Even if you think you won't see another stroller like yours, most likely you will. I think I saw about 5 of the same one I had every day of this last trip.

We visited DL many times with our two kids 16 months apart. We used our double with no problem. It can get a bit hairy to move through congested crowds, but so much better than trying to keep track of toddlers walking (or in my case, running) through the park.

We thought of two singles but we just couldn't afford nicer ones, and while we have the $12 cheapos from WalMart, they just aren't all that convenient. It's amazing what you can stuff in the bottom of a double stroller! Didn't have to go back to the hotel for anything!!

Now, I'm sure some people didn't like our double despite the fact that we tried to be as courteous as possible, but I don't let it bother me too much. Bear with each other patiently you know? It IS an amusement park with special attention to the children, for pete's....;)

The larger strollers can be very hard to get around if the parks are busy. I saw one the other day which was 3 across and way too big for most areas. Yes there has been strollers taken out to the parking lots and left there, one of my best friends had that happen to her, after that we just rented thou it's a little harder to get the kids to the car but you also don't have the problem of loading onto the trams either which is a problem in it's self. I would take smaller ones or rent makes it easier on you.

The tandems are easier to use than the ones that double wide strollers. This is my observation of strollers in the parks. In crowded areas like shops and on Main Street just before the parade the parents with single wide tandems could easily follow the person in front of them. Jogging strollers with big tires are helpful also because of the rough areas like cobblestone and bricks.

I LOVE my double jogger in DL!! Especially when I can let my 4 yo hitch a ride with the two little ones.
