Wow...what a huge response!! As posted,

We will NEVER eat at...
1. Cafe Orleans
2. Ranch Zacalo

Those were the two most DISGUSTING meals we've ever had at the park.

You are my hero. I thought I was alone in my hatred of Cafe Orleans.

If I could just find someone else who hated Catal, I would not feel alone in this world!

I think the theme of this thread is to find things that a seemingly large majority say is bad (like Captain Kidd's) or good (Napa Rose). Of course there will still be the one that loved it or hated it even when 99% of the others disagreed.

I agree with your point, but that being said - I have yet to encounter anyone who loves Captain Kidd's.

I don't like In 'n' Out.

So as you can see, anything is possible.

:eek::confused::eek::confused: period.
Nah, just kidding. I just got blasted on FB because I expressed my hatred of sloppy joes.
We're all entitled to likes and dislikes.

I have contacted the police, they are enroute. I suggest you shave your head and move to a country with no extradition treaties.

I can understand not liking their fries, they are just OK. But you dont like In N Out burgers? :|

I HATE sloppy joes. They look like a cross between dog diarhea and, well, something else really gross. The remind me of what the bottom of an outhouse looks like after a REALLY busy day.

I had a bad sloppy joe experience in elementary school. I ate one, then the school bully came up to me and told me he spit in it. I barfed in front of the whole school...yeah, still scarred by that.

I personally love In N Out, but I would imagine somewhere in the world there is one person who doesnt.

Their burgers are ok, but nothing to write home about. Their fries, however, suck.

Having a BLAST reading this thread. We are all certainly different in our likes and dislikes. (For example, I have friends who detest Monte Cristos and I love them) I also love the turkey legs, but mainly for the pure primitive "caveman" aspect of eating them. LOL;)

Keep em coming!:D

Atleast they have free refills, right? ;)

I don't like any of it. The burgers, the fries, the lemonade. I know it's unusual and I'm not sure why it's so but there it is.

And good luck with the police. I have our chief on speed dial. Remember that I live in a special "bubble."

Yes, I'm sure they have rules about their free refills, and you can disregard them and steal whatever extra refills you'd like as well.

Yesssss all very very interesting.....

But opinions aside here, I have given up on the food at most places at Disneyland because the food is COLD. Not an opinion. A fact. Buffets have old food and new food. New food delicious....old food cold and not delicious. Another fact.

The saddest thing in the world was a Cold Mickey Mouse pancake. Sad. Very veryveryvery sad. I almost got up to complain but I had waited in a very long line and wanted to get on with my day. The hamburgers at Disneyland are fine except that they are COLD. When you pay the prices Disneyland is charging they shouldn't be cold.

I have never had food at Catal that wasn't hot. Of course....I am kidless on most trips so attend these places on OFF PEAK times. SO that is a factor.

And then there is the fact that I AM mad.....

That is ok and I will take all your burgers. You can have all my veggies at the restaurant of your choice, lol.

I love them because of the freshness of the food. I also have them make mine special. They have learned to put paper down first then assemble my burger thus avoiding cross contamination. Last time I got sick from their food was because of gluttony.

Captain Kidds is assembly line cheapest possible food. I did see one person say they did not mind eating the free breakfast there that their hotel offered. I am sorry but I do not eat at a place whose dinners usually are rated F for failure. If I am so desperate for free food then I will go to Emmanuel Baptist Rescue Mission. My current trip is very tight financially but I rather drive home to get food or starve than eat at Captain Kidd's.

And this would be why you are Missys "MY Cindy"...she hates I&O fries...she doesnt' eat the burgers intact, we do protien style no spread and she'll eat her meat patties and the veggies and pickles, I always ask for extra sides of tomato for her but unless she's raving PMS she won't touch the fries. If she can talk me into it (and more times than not she does if we do drive thru) she asks for McDonald french fries to go with her food. She's not a big carb eater so when she does ask for fries I know her body is craving the carbs.

Smartest girl around! :)

The *only* time I have ever requested In N Out fries was at a point where I needed food, ANY food, pretty much literally right at that moment. We happened to be in the parking lot of the one by the character warehouse, I think, so it was the closest place. We went in and the husband went to get me fries while I sat and waited. Pretty much ate the fries right there when he brought them. Still didn't much care for them, but they served the purpose of alleviating how I was feeling.

I don't like In N Out either, I swear I've gotten sick every time I've tried it. The grilled cheese and animal style fries were ok when I was eating them, but the aftermath was horrible. I'm not allergic to peanuts, but I think the peanut oil is what gets me.

I must concur that the fries are not the best. I am not sure how you can call them "gross", I mean, they are still fries. McDonalds fries are much better, IMHO.

I have never tried protein style, but I have just about every other way. My girls love the grilled cheese.

How about Carnation Cafe Potato Soup....now that is to die for.

I can only eat I&O fries drenched in ketchup. I've never really liked them. What's weird is that my mom LOVES them. She thinks they are to die for.

Protein style is just the burger using lettuce in place of the bun, they normally do the spread but Missy doesn't like STUFF on her food....other than spice, she's not a condiment person as a rule on her burgers/fries. She doesn't like sauces on her veggies either.

As for the CC Potato soup oh yeah, I LOVE that soup.

Yes! Had my first cup the last time we were at DL. Oscar happened to come up to our table that time too - my first encounter with him too.

Loaded Potato soup at CC is the best. Love that spot too. . watching the people on Main Street. *sigh*

The other thing I really enjoy at DL/DCA is the chicken/apple/walnut salad in a bread bowl over at the bakery in DCA. YUM!

opps . . this is the yukky food thread . . .carry on. :p

Their fries, however, suck.

Agreed--I think the issue is that even when they're hot, they're limp and when they get cold (which is VERY fast) they truly are gross. They're a little better if you heat them up in the oven until they are crisp. But why go through all that.

You can have them cooked longer, as with everything else, they have a word/phrase for this but it is escaping me at the moment.

To get the fries cooked longer just ask for the "well done".

And of course the reason no one likes the In 'n' Out fries is ..... they're made from real, actual, fresh potatoes.

My problem with them is that they are so thick and don't cook through. So they are mushy.

The last time we went to In 'n' Out (since we moved away from the InO region) was June in Oakland, CA (between the airport and the freeway, it doesn't get much better than that!). The fries were cut thin and cooked through and they were FABULOUS! Perhaps that is a change slowly being implemented. Keep your fingers crossed.

I've had french fries made from real, actual, fresh potatoes - I watched them being made in the kitchen and had to wait long enough so that the hot oil didn't burn my fingers. They tasted great, which is not something I could ever say about any of the fries I've ever had from In N Out.

Yes, the fries have to be cooked right (oil at right temp, potatoes at right temp, oil fresh enough, time of cooking correct).
