Is it just me, or do the turkey legs taste like ham?

One thing lacking at the parks it toppings. I want mustard, relish and onions but do love a chicago dog. I miss onions on hot dogs so much.

Whenever I get a hot dog at Coke Corner, I ask for a side of onions for it. I think they charge a very minimal amount for them, but they're there if you ask for them.

No - not just you. Extremely greasy ham. I was trying to figure out if I was just slow and maybe they weren't really an actual turkey leg. The leg off the Thanksgiving turkey we have sure don't taste like those ones at DL do.

And just where to we get chimi's at the park? Zocalo? Hmmm...deep fried Mexican food. How bad can that be?

the turkey legs are smoked, hence the ham taste:)

I thought the turkey legs were nasty, too!

I didn't dig the peanut butter and jelly pizza at Goofy's.

I can't remember where we ate--but it was near the store that sells all the Nightmare before Christmas stuff--and the cakes were so, not even worth the price or the calories. We threw them away!

Ok, don't get those fritters. Go to Cafe Orleans and get the fritter/beignets there--delicious! The other place is the quick service New Orleans place in DTD--delicious beignets! (Just don't wear black because you're going to end up with powdered sugar all over you.)
Good tip.

Ya'll are crazy!! The burgers and Mint Juleps are the best!!!!!

Yes!!! Thank you!!!

Hardly anyone on here has an appreciation for junk food!

I think This is a bad place to find out where to eat, and where to NOT eat. Clearly, everyone is very opinionated. I think you have to just always try something new, that way you can find out what YOU like and what YOU don't like.

I love this site for Hispanic foods in Orange County. They show a couple sites and I know that chimichangas are sold only at food cart type places like Don Tomas which is across from Toy Story Mania shop.

This is an old article but still informative about food locations in parks. Outdoor Vending (ODV) still maintains the food carts but all made on site food like churros, corn dogs, and popcorn are handled by an area restaurant manager.

I have to disagree with you, disneylandgirl. I started the thread to hear other people opinions ;0) I often base what I do based on others reviews. Where I stay, restaurants I eat in, and the things I buy are all influenced by the opinions of others that I read. I don't substitute their opinion for my own, but I do let it sway my actions in matters that I don't have personal experience with.

Take for instance, Turkey Legs, I have never had one, and based on the reviews here, I probably would choose not to try one.

On the other hand, I LOVE Dole Whips (I think I mentioned that before), so no matter what others say I would not give them up :)

I appreciate and enjoy reading others thoughts ;)

I agree with many on this thread. I don't eat the burgers or the pizza. The burgers just have this really rough, hard kind of taste to them and the pizza tastes like cardboard. Though if I'm absolutely starving (sometimes I do this waiting on a ride or waiting for the parade at a park) then I'll just go with whatever's close.

Blue Bayou and Plaza Inn are the places for me. I used to go to the French Market but their menu's changed. It was an extremely busy summer night. The electrical parade had just ended and me and my mother were starving. We went straight into Disneyland while everyone was staring at the fireworks. We went into the Plaza Inn, no lines, no waiting, got a pasta bowl, and sat outside listening to the beautiful Ms. Eden Espinosa. One of the best nights, ever. Pasta was good, breadstick good, cold drink in hand. Couldn't go wrong with that.

Is there a seven up julep version consumed somewhere else in the world? (Drince??)

Not in the land of drive thru dacquiri stands!

Thanks everyone. At first I was thinking we'd book lunch there, but now I'm thinking dinner is the better option for us. We'll probably book a patio table during the Pixar Play Parade show.
I THOUGHT someone said that they wouldn't book patio tables specifically ahead of time, because of the unknowns due to weather. Not sure when that started, though.

I love a good hamburger - give me an In-n-out, Tommy's, or a Red Robin any day. But most of the burgers at Disneyland taste like they came out of a bag.

I did have a burger at that place by Soring over CA that was pretty good one time.

I do like to get the fried chicken in the park but some times it's really good and other times it's dry and small.

You are correct, Drince. I called Disney Dining this morning and booked a Wine Country Trattoria PS for dinner in mid-October and was told that the patio section is 'blocked off' (ie closed) for that week (Oct 12-16) due to anticipated bad weather. The super-awesome CM put me on hold and called the restaurant for more details and was told that the manager on duty for that particular evening will determine whether or not to open the patio area (based on the weather).

However, even if the patio section were listed as 'open' in the computer, she told me that I would not be able to specifically reserve a patio table in my PS, as a PS only guarantees you a table *somewhere* at the restaurant, not a table in a specific location. (I've no idea if this is a new policy or if this is the way it's always been.)

So, hopefully the patio opens up for us on that night but if not, that's okay too because I've been meaning to check out this restaurant for a while now.

And this is totally off topic, but I noticed that the Disney Dining recording now uses the word 'reservation' in the spots where it used to say 'priority seating'...or has it always said 'reservation'? I could have swore it used to say PS.

I try not to think about what I don't like about Disneyland too much, but there are some foods I don't care for there. I am also one of those that don't care for the turkey legs. I was also disappointed on my last trip to get a hot dog from the Coke Corner and instead of the foot-longs like they used to be it was a regular-sized one, even though it cost the same. I was still hungry when I finished it. For over $6, I want to come away from a meal full. I've also never been a big fan of the burgers.

What??? How can they know what the weather is going to be like that week, a month from now?? Argh...that's the week we'll be there too.

The BBQ turkey leg is 1,029 calories... Disney sells 1.5 million of them each year.

I stay away from Pizza Port. I've eaten there three times, and within the hour have become violently sick all three times. (To the point of having to go back to the hotel)

I would not recommend the BBQ Pork(I think not usre of what meat actually) from the River Belle Terrace.

I love RBT's food most of the time but that sandwich was the most disgusting thing I have ever attempted to eat.
Too saucy, not enough meat, sauce was way WAY to sweet for MY taste buds and it soaked into the bread making it so mushy!

The way she explained it (and maybe I didn't relay this well in my post), is that its a policy to have the patio closed for that time of year, unless the Manager on duty decides the weather is nice enough to allow folks to sit on the patio. Now when 'that time of year' begins and ends, I have no idea, as I was only checking for that specific week.

I eat the pizza and that is because it is the only place I can get gluten free pizza that I know of outside of Moline and San Antonio.

Jo's Taqueira has large portions of meat in their tacos and it is a good price. HOWEVER, it ain't Mexican food. I just had carnitas from Don Jose and their meat had very very litel grease and that grease had color to it from the flavorings but Jo's was a clear grease, YUCK. I do not recall ever getting a soft taco that had grease on the tortilla let alone was floating in a boat that was filling up with grease.

Ratatouille was a great movie and I loved how the mouse saw fireworks when he ate food. Jo's tacos were like a match being lit in the middle of the day where as Don Jose's was flavorful and bursting with different combinations of flavors in each bite like a fire works show.

I say avoid Jo's tacos unless your sugars are crashing or you are so famished you have to eat. They are edible and not bad tasting but nothing like Don Jose let alone home made carnitas. PAss me some paper towels please.

Wow, how awful. Do you eat the same thing each time?

We eat there a lot - and a lot of us - and no one has ever gotten sick.
