Has anyone stayed in the new ones yet? I have a reservation there for next month. I'm particularly interested in the bus system. TIA!

Well... I found this out recently...
The THV's do not have their own bus system. To go to anywhere, you have to take an internal shuttle over to SSR. From there, you can go anywhere. (Its kinda like the same situation as those staying at the FW cabins.) Its a rather long walk between the edge of the THV area and the Springs building of SSR.

To be honest, the new villas look great and are very attractive. But being that the pool is not all that themed and all the amenities are over at the SSR, you need to feel comfortable being "secluded" while staying there.

Many know I am one of those who would rather use Disney Transportation. However, with the THV's Im thinking a car is a necessity.

But GusMan, is there PARKING near the treehouses? They're kind of in a swampy area (hence the reason the footprint was not altered when they redid them), and I'm not sure the parking lot is really close. (But I've only seen them from the "River", so my vantage point wasn't all that complete.)

That is a really good question...
I know that in some older pictures here on MP, the former design looked like there was some parking near each cluster of villas. I did some searching and did not see anything concrete about if, with the new design, there is parking near each villa cluster or if there is a central parking location near the entrance, etc.

One would think they would have to have some parking in the area...

I don't see any parking for the Tree House Villas in the Google Maps aerial view (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=tree+house+villas+at+sarasota+springs+resort,&sll=28.376524,-81.527148&sspn=0.005409,0.011362&ie=UTF8&radius=0.35&filter=0&rq=1&ev=p&ll=28.378346,-81.529058&spn=0.005409,0.011362&t=h&z=17). My guess is that there are one or two spaces at each villa?

That is my guess as well, Andrew.
If you look at this archived article (http://www.mouseplanet.com/dtp/wdwguide/4_Accommodations/VDI_photo_tour_treehouse_villas.htm) by Brian Bennett, you see in the first pic that there are a couple of parking spots. One can only assume that to still be the case with the new Villa's.

Thanks for the research. I want to say that I remember someone saying something about parking at the villa itself as well. We're not going to have a car, though, anyway, so I'll be a slave to their paltry bus system. I'm just excited that we're going to get all 10 of us in one place (9 + baby)!

And I got free dining! Yeah.

Sheilaras,

Please post your thoughts on the Treehouse Villas when you return from your trip. For our next trip, we are debating on the Boardwalk or the Treehouse Villas. I am interested in how secluded you feel and how the bus situation plays out. I hope you have a great time! Enjoy that free dining! :fez:
