View Full Version : The 3-steps to eternal life (according to the raliens)
HB Tigger Fan 01-14-2003, 10:43 PM The raliens are the people who said they "cloned" a baby and that humans are created from outer space. Dateline did a story on them tonight.
The 3 steps to eternal life:
Step 1- clone yourself
Step 2- grow yourself to your current age in a matter of hours (they must have gotten ahold of the harry potter bone regenerator stuff)
Step 3- download your memories into your new body
Lashbear 01-14-2003, 10:51 PM Nice if:
A) you can afford it.. and
B) if it really works
...my team leader is still laughing about the raelien website! :D
How about if I ...
Step 1- clone Catherine Zeta-Jones
Step 2 - grow her to age 25 in a matter of hours
Step 3 - download what I know NOW into "my" new body.

Step 3- download your memories into your new body I'm not trying to make fun of them, but this really wouldn't work, even if you had the technology to do it. The problem is Step 2. If you grow your clone to the same age you are then you haven't increased your lifespan at all. So what's the point? The clone will be exactly like you and will live just as long as you will.
What you do is clone yourself when you're old and download the memories into a baby body (maybe you'll want to grow it to be about 4 years old first though...you don't want to restart in a completely helpless state). That will give you another 80-90 years of life (assuming you don't fall ill to any life threatening desease or have any fatal accidents). Do this every 80 years and you have eternal life. Simple. It doesn't take an alien to figure that out. ;)
I have discovered the secret to living on mars.

Send a Rocket with people there.
Have them build structures for living in.
Send more people to live in the structures.

That's about as specific as they're being, and I doubt they know anything. This topic and even their solution to eternal life is nothing new; it's been in a number of movies and books.
Cadaverous Pallor 01-16-2003, 10:35 AM Right on Squinky! :D
Bill's proposal does make more sense...except the creepy idea of being 4 years old and having the memories of an adult! What the heck would that be like?
Doodle Duck 01-16-2003, 10:47 AM Bill say's..."I'm not trying to make fun of them,..."
Why the hell not? Another group of wackos who deserve less than credibility and I'd venture a guess, thrive upon being made fun of...so yeah...I guess your right...why give 'em a thrill.

Why the hell not? Because, although they have some really whacked out ideas, personally I don't think it's fair for me to make fun of them. So they're weird, so what. I'm weird too, and I don't like people making fun of me for it. I'm just trying to show them the same courtesy.
All of us here are weird to other people in one way or another. Is it okay for others to make fun of us?

All of us here are weird to other people in one way or another. Is it okay for others to make fun of us? Hmmm. Good question. I'd say yes. :) I guess it depends on what you mean by "being made fun of". If someone laughingly called me obsessive about Disneyland, wasting my time on frivolous information, I'd laugh with them. They are "making fun" of me. But if someone angrily said that what I was doing was wrong and that I should stop it immediately, they aren't making fun - they are attempting to make me feel guilty or shameful for doing something I enjoy.
So yes, I am ok with people making fun of me. As long as I can make fun of them as well. :) And anyone that talks about eternal life is just asking for it. :~D
Bill Catherall 01-16-2003, 11:35 AM What if someone said you were stupid for following a "Mickey cult" and had no respect for you as a person because of some of the ideas you have or the way you think? Isn't that what's going on when people "make fun of" the Raliens?

Bill, I'd feel same way if someone said I was a fluffy green bunny rabbit and had no respect for me as a person: I'd stare blankly at them, roll my eyes, and go on with my day. I know full well I'm not a fluffy green bunny rabbit. If someone has no respect for me because they think I'm a fluffy green bunny rabbit, I don't need them in my life and they really have no effect on me. In fact, they've actually done me a service by telling me they think like that. I now know they are quite delusional and should probably be avoided. At most, their comments might get me to look in a mirror to confirm that I am indeed not a fluffy green bunny rabbit. I know I'm not in a Cult of Mickey and if someone really thinks that way, we're probably not going to get along anyway, so why waste time confirming the obvious. We'll go our separate ways and be done with it.
Variations of opinion are one thing, but when a bunch of people band together because they believe some yahoo's claptrap about being descended from aliens, if they don't expect to be dismissed as kooks, they're clearly not all there!
Now if they gave good scientific evidence of our alleged ancestry, I'll be happy to look at it and make an informed opinion. Sorry, but the word of a wide-eyed lamé-wearing Frog just doesn't cut it for me as "evidence".
Bill Catherall 01-16-2003, 12:19 PM I see what you guys are saying. I guess what I was really trying to say was "Regardless of my opinion of them, here's why they're full of it..." :D
hey everyone... I heard Szczerbiak Maniac was a fluffy green bunny rabbit!

Doodle Duck 01-16-2003, 05:17 PM As mentioned...these 'types' thrive on being on the 'outside'. Without ridicule, they are just like anybody else...unnoticed. By casting aspersions you are enhancing their eliteism in their own eyes.
Even so... I tend to follow the advise of Bobby Slayton
"If you can't laff at yourself, make fun of somebody else."
:-):D :D :D
