I'm hearing that Walt Disney World will not hold the Race for the Taste or Tower of Terror 13K events in 2010. Instead, a new "major" fall event will debut in October 2010, but details are sketchy.

That might be nice actually. I've been thinking about doing RFTT, but a bigger event would be more of a draw for a destination race for me.

Disney has confirmed RFTT and ToT will not be presented in 2010.

I got that email. I still am not sure if I'm going to do Race for the Taste. I can't find anyone else interested in traveling with me, and it would mean two trips down about a month apart.

My Oct one is timed to not be able to do the RftT, but I AM doing 2 trips a month apart! (Plus DL the month before that!) Come on, you can do it too, Steph!

I'll be there for the RFTT as will quite a few from my running group.

Rumor mill is new Half Marathon running from Richard Petty along the last 1/2 of the marathon course. This was to be the Princess course but they changed it. They like this new course and want a race to use it!

The race will probably be "Pirates" themed to help promote the 2011 release of the 4th Pirates movie.

I like running through 3 parks on this course(back 1/2 of marathon) other than the 1 1/2 parks of the Jan & Princess Half course. I don't think they could sell the same course 3 times in a year.

Doing the back 1/2 of marathon course as a Half will make it a lot different than when your are running the full. Won't be as hot and not as tired.

That might not be too bad, since it looks like the cut out the out and back segment toward Wide World of Sports that is in the marathon course. I would prefer they have a Halloween/fall theme rather than pirates, but I suppose we'll see when they make the announcement!
