Hello all. I am new to this website and I am looking for a little advice. I am in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Disney World in 2010. I will be traveling with my husband, three children (10, 8 and 4) and my parents. I am trying to decide when to visit and where to stay.

First, I am debating between September, October and November. We took a trip in early October a few years ago and it rained everyday. I am not just talking a passing shower either. Outside of that we loved visiting then as it was warm enough to swim (when it wasn't raining), crowds were low and not too humid. I guess I am wondering if this was just a fluke or if we should consider a different time. I also considered going in Nov. early Dec. so we could see the Christmas decorations. I fear we would not be able to enjoy the waterparks and pool though.

Also, I am debating where we should stay. A couple of years ago, My husband, two oldest children and myself stayed at the Poly and loved it. Our youngest stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa. This time they will be coming with and I don't think we will be able to convince my parents to spend that kind of money on a hotel room. That being said is there a good moderate hotel that may work? I am thinking that we are going to have to get two rooms and have one the kids bunk with Grandma and Grandpa as it is difficult to find a room for 5. Do the moderates have ajoining rooms?

I realize this is long, but I would love and appreciate any advice. I know that it is early to start planning, but I am just sooo excited to go back. I have discovered that I am becomming quite a fan of Disney!!!!!!

Thanks!:D

October is generally not constantly raining. You may have hit the leftovers from some sort of tropical activity (it kind of sounds like it). I go in October every year because I love the Food & Wine festival. A lot of people like September because the past 3(?) years they've offered free dining. After Thanksgiving through the first couple of weeks of December is great to see all the Christmas festivities, and it COULD be warm enough for your kids to swim (especially if you're from a colder climate).

Yes, moderates have connecting rooms, but Disney won't guarantee them unless you've only got 2 adults. BUT, you can request them, and when I went with my sister and her family (sister, BIL, 3 nephews), we did the same thing and we did get the connecting rooms. Be careful you don't request adjoining rooms - that just means they share a wall. Connecting rooms have a door between them. Additionally, Port Orleans Riverside can handle 5 people (including one in a trundle bed) but it's not any bigger of a room, so it might seem crowded. There's also the family suites in the All Star Music, but I don't think there'd be room IN the suite for Grandma and Grandpa, so they'd have to get their own room.

As far as WHICH moderate. There are 4 of them, and if you ask 4 people here, you will likely get 4 different answers. I personally recommend you pick it based on the theme you like the most.
