Tony has determined, from a system load perspective, that we should consider closing threads that hit the 1000th-post mark. This means the Ultra Fun and Entertaining Association Game (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11159) is getting pretty close. I will go ahead and put an announcement within the thread as well, but please be aware that we will start doing so on a more routine basis.
Thankye! :)

Can we lock our own threads or do we have to get a mod?

I believe only mods can lock them.
But if you want one locked, you can ask the Mods to consider it.

oohhhhhh a mod ? that I actually sort of know the answer too, threads are locked for specific reasons....the mod feels that the conversation has stepped over the guidelines, it is a duplicate thread (then they usually merge the threads but I don't have ability to do that) or the thread has exceeded the limits that Tony recommends for MP performance issues.......the originator of a thread can request it be locked but must explain why in their request then the mod will decide if they should or will lock it .....the trend is to NOT lock threads merely because someone has requested it unless there are strong mitigating circumstances explained in said request.... ... mods in training can't do any of the above :)

Does the 1000th poster on the Ultra Fun and Entertaining Association Game (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11159) thread win a prize ?:D
Rob who suspects he may know the answer to that in his own heart...
