Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it alternate from day to day? I always have to ask a CM.... But it may start down by the orange stinger and end up at the sunshine plaza, I seem to always remember it going that way....

The times we have seen it, it has started by the Orange Stinger. We always sit by Jumpin jellyfish to be one of the first ones to see it. We have seen it 4 times in two years and that is where it started. Hmmm...

Thanks. We're going on the 26th just in the evening for dinner, ELP and fireworks. We're hoping it starts at the Stinger so we can watch it down on that end, cut back by GRR as soon as it passes us and thru Condor Flats, exit the park and get a decent view of the new fireworks......Do you think that's being optimistic?? We will have the kids with us.

We have made it before. Are they in strollers? That helps.

The 3 times I've seen it, its always started near Orange Stinger.
I think they should have it start near Sunshine Plaza. That way, after people see the parade, they can leave the park kind of in sections, instead of everyone piling up towards the entrance.

Thank you, thank you. Again...SO nice meeting you and your family last night!!!
It was nice meeting you guys too. I was thinking of you having to drive all the way home as we were walking back to the hotel... Did you have to walk all the way back to the parking structure? It looked like the trams were done for the night... and we heard a big group of people saying "well, they wouldn't leave us stranded here, would they?"
when you watch the ELP I would recommend watching in front of Golden dreams theatre if your gonna try and get over to DL for Fireworks. they don't let you sit where all the walls are. We were in front of the Jumpin Jelly Fish and it took forever to get to the path that goes by GRR. Granted we were there on opening night, and it was really crowded but with that area being a no watch zone it adds to the rest of the crowds....
The parade started almost 20 minutes late last night if you can believe that? when the made the announcement it started with "due to circumstances beyond our control the ELP has been...." I though it was canceled for sure, but only delayed....
By the way, do you think we need a secrete MP handshake? LOL

weird--I swear the two times we did the premium seating for the ELP the parade came from the left (we were sitting at Golden Vine winery)

Yes, we did have to hoof it all the way back to the parking structure....but we were on a high! Not sure if it was F! or all of the sugar and caffeine....LOL!!! Trams were NOT operating.
Thanks for the tips on ELP, we'll surely do that. Ouch....20 minutes late. How was it anyhow? What did you think of the changes?? Can't wait to see it!
My hubby swears we need one....LOL. Maybe 'they' already have one and we just aren't "cool" enough to see it yet.... ;)
How was the rest of your trip?

We really enjoyed the changes, it was a lot of fun and the girls (especially DD#2) LOVE parades, every time we go she asks if we can see the ELP, so she was stoked about it, and they had no idea Tink was now in the parade so that was really cool. It was fun and I think it's even better than before.
I bet they have one but we aren't privy to the info yet... we'll just have to bribe someone with a churro or something....
By the way my DH is a lurker here on MP... he hasn't posted anything yet, but he reads everything I post and then I get to hear his two cents about my posts.... again he's reading over my shoulder.....

Not sure when that was, but I remember reading some time ago that the direction of the parade did shift. It had to do with the people watching the parade and then streaming out and into Disneyland, and that was causing some problems, so they figured if they flipped the direction of the ELP, that would alleviate whatever the issue was that was being caused.
I haven't seen the parade in a while, but the times I saw it, early in its run at DCA, the parade did start from Sun Plaza.

All the construction likely also has had some effect on decisions on parade direction as well as backstage storage spots. So would really not assume it's being run in locations or directions just based on what was done in past times. I could see this also be a reason for any parade delays. And maybe even changing course over the summer.

Doubt it. We're going Sunday morning and having lunch at CBRBBQ....I seriously doubt that the boys will be able to hang on all day. We're going the 26th for ELP and Magical. We're just going to leave Temecula around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, have dinner and see the shows. Doubt we'll even do any rides.
Can't wait for the surprise trip Father's Day....we're just going to 'leave the house for chuch' like normal.....but go to DL instead.

Does anyone know if the ELP will continue after summer Nightastic!?

ELP traditionally runs in the busy season only (Summer, Christmas and sometimes Spring Break). DCA closes too early to have ELP on offseason weeknights and even most off season weekends, especially with the new daylight savings schedule.
