I was reading earlier that an animatronic version of Remy (from Ratatouille) was appearing somewhere in the parks and then saw on another site that this week he's going to be at Les Chefs de France in EPCOT. Has anyone run across this? I'm wondering how they're doing it and if I should change my ADRs to hit Les Chefs when I go in April???

I saw him at the Studios in Paris. They converted one of the restaurants there to a Ratatouille theme, and he appears as part of the character greetings. It's a very cool effect.

I saw the video on Laughing Place. He was so cute! I wish he could kinda move around more though.

I met him at the Animation walk through in the Studios when the movie first came out. I would think it would bring more of a demand for reservations for Les Chefs de France.

I was just reading that Remy is at Chefs de France at EPCOT, but I got the impression that it was not someone dressed up in a costume. Have you been? What's this character interaction like?

I haven't been but he's a little (rat-sized) animatronic. He gets revealed when someone lifts the dome off a serving tray.

He makes "appearances" but since he's mechanical, I imagine he's more prone to downtime than a face character. If you google "Remy at chefs de france in Disneyworld" you'll have a selection of interactions to view.

The only review I've read states his performance is "well done." (I hope they don't mean like a steak!)

He's scheduled to make appearances through September 10, mostly at lunch.

There's also a still photo on flickr here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/disneyworldphoto/3417454195/). It's a very cool little animatronic.

Thanks for all of the links. He is cute. I guess I was expecting him to talk though. Although, thinking back to the movie I remember that the humans could not understand him. The bad news is that we are not going until Sept. 30th, so we'll miss him. Too bad!! We have never been to the restaurant and he was giving me a reason to try it. We may still go anyways. Thanks again!!:D

LOL, we are also celebrating a birthday (daughter 9/1) and a "kind of" anniversary... my husband and I started dating 20 years ago on Oct. 8th.... it's way too hot for us Marylanders to go to Florida on our real anniversary in June, we would melt!;)

We are from VA, so I totally get what you are saying. Well, Happy Birthday to your daughter and Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. We also celebrate our "dating anniversary." I thought we were the only people on earth who did that. Maybe it's an Adkins thing!!;)

Remy's making the rounds at mealtime (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/custom/tourism/orl-calbevil10041009apr10,0,2003051.column) - Orlando Sentinel

Diners at Epcot's Les Chefs de France can get close and personal with the character. He and his maitre d'/handler make the rounds four times a day, stopping at each table for brief visits. Remy squeaks, stretches, sort of sings, dances, exhales, laughs and banters but not exactly in English.
