What is the difference between Mimi's and Millies? I thought they were basically the same type of food. Are the portions larger or better?

Please give me your imput. We are on a budget (Like almost everyone else!) and want to spend our food money on the best. Thanks, Miss M

Please give me your imput. We are on a budget (Like almost everyone else!) and want to spend our food money on the best. Thanks, Miss MWhat I have found interesting, there are people who really like Millie's, and those who don't. I found the prices to be higher than Mimi's, and the food wasn't nearly as good. They have been there a lot longer than Mimi's. I personally wondered at the time what people were raving about. But there are also people who don't care for Mimi's.

I haven't eaten at the Mimi's at the park but we love love (did I mention love?) the Mimi's here at home and the few other locations we have eaten at. Price point I'd say they are in the same range. I have eaten at Millie's and liked everything we ordered there as well, but the big pull at Mimi's is how accomodating they are to adjusting the childrens meals to fit what we need without 'nickle and dime' me to death...they swap out ff for a salad no problem, one of my surrogate grandsons needs protien or he turns into a sugar monster but of course like most young kids loves the sugars and really wanted the chocolate chip pancakes. I cleared it with mom that he could order them IF we ordered some eggs to go with...they just added it to his breakfast, no additional cost...now I want to throw a disclaimer here...you have to do these things at the intial order, not oh wow Johnny isn't full can we add this or that ...

As for portions, Mimi's has started a 'just enough' menu that offers smaller lighter portions that we're finding fit our meal needs very well.

Mimi's by FAR! Millie's seemed overpriced, a dirty restaurant and inadequate service.

Mimi's is a much better restaurant. In my experience, the prices are about the same, but the food is leaps and bounds better.

Don't want to offend the Millie's fans but I can't see why you'd consider a Millie's if Mimi's was available.

The one downside to this location (like many other restaurants local to DL) is that you can have a wait, even if you call ahead. They are usually good about bringing the drinks and (filling) bread basket while you wait for your food.

We haven't been to Millie's, and we've never been to the Anaheim Mimi's, but in the Sac area, Mimi's is my 4 year old's absolute favorite restaurant. It's probably actually one of his favorite places in the world. He loves ordering the mouse pancakes. He doesn't care that they call them "Mimi Mouse" pancakes, they're Mickey Mouse to him. :)

We've done both. I find Millie's more affordable (and I like the menu variety a bit more).

Love the muffins at Mimis though -- and there is one right by our house, so we tend to go to Millie's more if we are near the park.

I haven't been to Millie's since Mimi's opened. Much prefer Mimi's.

Mimi's, handsdown. I've not been the slightest bit impressed with Millie's the two times I've been.

I have been to Mimi's and I LOVE it! I must admit I haven't been to Millie's since it does not appeal to me.

Thank you! It looks like we will be eating at Mimi's. I can hardly wait to try the mouse pancakes. Yum...

we ate at Millies once, never again! the restaurant was not very clean and the food was shocking. Mimi's seems very different to me - clean, friendly and yummy food. prices seem about the same but the quality is very different.

We had never been to either before and wit all the talk about them and having spent the last few days putting together a couple trips, we decided to go to our local Mimi's tonight here in Reno.
The food was really good and the bread they brought out before the meal was like a desert sampler, it had a dutch crunch, a dark carrot/zuchini and ban/walnut, my 5yo seriously said woohoo we are just having desert tonight. I had pot roast mashed tats and french onion soup. I am a big guy and a pretty healthy eater but I could only finish half. My wife ordered off the just right dinner menu some kind of pasta thingy with chicken that she said was really good but still could only eat about half of her meal. I made/asked her to get a cup of the corn chowder so I could try that also even though she does not normally like chowder, I was lucky to get a taste of that stuff  she ate nearly all of it before saying "oh my I have seemed to eat most of the soup, would you still like to try" :D It was great!
My 5yo daughter has been involved in our trip planning and was so jazzed to get Mickey "Mimi" pancakes for dinner and a large plate of fruit, pineapple, grapes, melon and about 1/3 of an orange.
We ordered the desert sampler ensemble "purely for research purposes" and all three items were great but the bread pudding was the best although the whiskey sauce was strong but very tasty. If the portions and pricing are even close to the same at the Disney location, minus Character meals I think we have found a new fav place to eat while there.
Oh we had our 9mo daughter who normally just flirts with everyone while we are out instead of eating, but the server at Mimi's without having been asked brought her a little plate with a small bowl of dry cheerios and some orange slices as well as melon which was really nice, she still flirted with everyone but she nawed on the orange a little and she knows cheerios and was content to eat one every so often.
The bill was about 36-37 bucks and that was also my wife having iced tea and my coffee, the kids meal came with a drink and I think was only 4.25 0r 4.50 so with tip 45 it was a great deal.

Sometimes they don't bring the little cheerios plate without being asked - but if you ask, they're always (in my experience) happy to bring you one.

My new favorite dessert there is the small portion of the bread pudding. But one of my most favorite to go desserts is their regular bread pudding to share with Doc. We ask for extra whiskey sauce (although we've noticed some servers have given us extra without us asking, too!)

My new favorite dessert there is the small portion of the bread pudding.I love their right sized desserts! But I too will take home the regular one and we share it 3-4 ways. The small one MDM and I split. And LOVE the sauce!!!!! (Great avatar BTW...)

Millie's was VERY anti-Anaheim Resort expansion even though they exist because of it. I would never go to Millie's because of that.

Honestly though, Mimi's is awesome. I love them for breakfast and I love them any other time in the day. Portions are pretty large and the food is good.

Actually, I was thinking Tilly's. Tilly's was the one that kept raising the fuss and was very anti-Anaheim Resort. Millie's, Tilly's... Mimi's... they all sound the same. :D

Another vote for Mimis. I love the french onion soup and buttermilk spice muffin. So yummy! I tried Millies once. I didn't like it.

Mimi's menu looks really yummy. I think we ate at Millie's last time. It was okay, but we were so hungry almost anything would have been okay.

Looks like we are going to have to try Mimi's again. The first time we tried it (many years ago) it was overpriced and not very good. We have only gone to Millies since then and have become addicted to their Bacon Potato Soup and on EVERY trip stop in to grab the mini-cream pies to snack on in our room.

This thread is a revelation. I wasn't aware there were people who liked Millies. I've always viewed it as a slight improvement over Captain Kidd's. I'd rather eat at the IHOP (where I have never had a decent dining experience).

Is Mimi's on Harbor? or near Millies? I only ate at Millies once and that was because my sister was at the hotel by there.
We are always looking for new places to eat and Mimi's sounds nice from all of the posters opinions here.
