Springtime question from a Fall visitor

We usually go in Sept-Dec. We got AP's in Dec so we'll take our 1st short trip hopefully this May. It would be May 17-19 (Sun-Tues) because of a b-day. What do I need to be aware of that could affect crowds or just in general around this time? I checked previous weekly updates already.

Grad night stuff would not affect us even if they happen during our time frame, right? I mean that is usually after the park closes if I understand that correctly.

I figure weather would be the same as here in AZ. Maybe slightly cooler. Anything else?

This is also our first time surprising the kids. Yeah! We usually plan the next trip right when we get back & start the countdown 3 months out.

Grad night will affect what time the park closes. The park will close earlier on those nights.

Grad nites are Thurs nights, so no, they wouldn't affect you.

Thanks. Are there any other unofficial yearly things around that time? DCA will usually close at 6pm on Mon and Tues, and DL will close at 8. Sunday will be your long day. Billy Hill will only play on Sun/Mon. Fireworks only on Sunday.

Thanks for the Billy Hill info. We saw them for the 1st time in 5 trips in Dec & want to see them again. We'll be skipping fireworks & parades on this short trip. I really appreciate all the questions you locals answer all the time!

Funny, I'm in the same boat as you....I always go to DL between Sept and Dec and I'll also be there May 17th
Sun-Tues..drive home on the 20th!

That depends on what part of AZ you are talking about :confused: If you are from the valley then the nights will still be significantly cooler than it would be in Phx in May. I am from Northern AZ so the weather in Anaheim that time of year is similar to here, and so we are used to cooler evenings. Someone from the valley would probably still want to wear a light jacket, or at least have one in the lockers in case you need it.. I know my family and friends from the valley are kinda big babies about the "cold" weather :p

Currently, Billy Hill is dark on Tues and Wed, while Laughing Stock takes the stage on Tues and Wed. Billy Gold plays Thurs - Sat, and Billy Blue on Sun/Mon. This might change after spring break (HOPEFULLY!!!!)
