My DS will be turning 4 when we are there in a little over 2 weeks and I didn't realize until yesterday that the DL B-day Party was only $15.99 a person, so I'm considering doing that. I read a few older posts about it and it seemed like it got pretty good reviews and was curious if anyone had done it lately to give me their opinion of it. I wondered if with the new celebration theme if anyone who has been there recently noticed any differences to any prior times they were there. Also just general feedback on it would be great.

Thanks!!

I think for kids it would be a blast. You get a nice photo-op with Mickey and a nifty decorate it yourself cake (though admittedly it's small). Plus Lemonade I think. It's not bad, it's especially nice for the character interaction. The host Pat E. Cake is kinda corney, but it's Disney, what do you expect?

I haven't experienced the party since "What Will You Celebrate" began, mostly because I'm waiting for the Plaza Inn renovations to be complete and for the new decor package to be installed. I walked by the other day and noticed that they were using the new party hats, but I didn't look to see if they had the new sipper cups yet.

That said, it's probably the least-expensive "character meal" you can find, and it's a lot of fun once or twice. I've done it a few times so it's lost a lot of the initial charm for me (plus, I really dislike white cake... I might enjoy it more if there was an option for a nice, moist chocolate cake!), but kids really seem to enjoy it.

Thanks AVP & Wildwill.

AVP - You mentioned Plaza Inn renovations. Are those in process currently and would construction interfere with doing the birthday party there?

Thanks AVP & Wildwill.

AVP - You mentioned Plaza Inn renovations. Are those in process currently and would construction interfere with doing the birthday party there? The scaffolds have slightly cut into the outdoor seating, but they've been having the parties every day - the area is just a little more cramped. The scaffolds come down this week, so I wouldn't worry about it unless your birthday is tomorrow.

I checked this weekend, and they've installed a lot of the new signage, and are using both the new drink cups and the new birthday hats. They are still working through their inventory of the old stickers, and should have the new one available once they are out of these.

Thanks for the update AVP! His birthday is Tuesday March 10, so we still have a little over 2 weeks to go, so it sounds like they should be done with the scaffolds then. I made my PS reservation yesterday. When I first called to find out the time, the CM said that day was completely open (think that was like last Friday), so it will be interesting to see how big of a crowd it turns out we'll get. We're hoping we have light crowds that week since it's before the big spring break times start.
