We'll be going to Disney World in May and haven't been there since May of 2006. What new shows, rides, eateries, etc have popped up in the past 3 years that we need to make sure to see. Anything new or fun for the boys? Last time we did the pirate cruise and I was wondering if there was anything really fun like that we should sign them up for.

I don't know about some of the extra things like the Pirate cruise, but there is a new Finding Nemo ride (at Epcot) that I don't think was there in 2006; there is a new movie at the Canadian pavillion; Pirates of the Caribbean has been revamped to include Capt. Jack Sparrow and Barbossa; Haunted Mansion has been revamped a bit; Hollywood Studios (the old MGM) has a new ride called Toy Story (Midway) Mania; Animal Kingdom has a most excellent ride called Expedition Everest, Spaceship Earth has been redone at Epcot; Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor (yes, lol MILF) at Magic Kingdom is new, and I think that's it. Others will chime in, I am sure. We're heading down in July, having gone to WDW in 2007 and DL last summer. Havve fun!

We did go on Expedition Everest last time. They were in the middle of building the Nemo ride when we were there.

Are Nemo, Pirates, Toy Story Mania and Monsters Inc the same as Disneyland or competely different? I'm pretty sure the Pirates additions are similar, right?

Nemo is not at all like the one in Disneyland. Disneyland is a submarine. In Epcot, you get on a clamobile and see the story of Nemo inside an actual aquarium. It's a very cool experience.

Toy Story is exactly the same as in Disneyland, but it still is always worth while to ride (unless the lines aren't to long )

And the additions to Pirates are similar, VERY similar, but the rides themselves are not the same.

Monsters, Inc is totally different. It's a 'comedy club' at the MK, not a dark ride like at DCA. They have people text in jokes when you're in the holding room (between the queue area and actual theater) - so you might want to have the boys think of something ahead of time to text in. They don't give you the number to text it to until you're in that room.

The RIDE of Toy Story Midway Mania is exactly the same, but the queue is Andy's Room and really really well done, and the area is all 'toy storied' up.

The Finding Nemo stage show in Animal Kingdom might be new for you, too.

The movie in China is probably new to you, too - and of course there's the Kim Possible Adventure which is a TON of fun. (Steve Russo had an article on MousePlanet last week about interviewing an Imagineer who worked on it)

American Idol Experience is also new in the Studios

Block Party Bash is new to Hollywood Studios and is a lot of fun. It is a transplant from Cali and relies alot on audience participation. Just make sure to stand and wait at one of the stops and not where it just goes by. Ask.

They have a Mickey tour in Magic Kingdom I heard is fun and it is for ages 9 and up.

Have fun, I am jealous!:)

I would love to do a tour...unfortunately I don't have any that are 9 years old yet. Someday we'll get one of those tours though:p

Thank you all for the info. We are going to let our Disneyland passes expire in March so that the boys get very excited for Disney World. I'm so excited!

Ive never been at either ride Finding Neno and Toy Story in WDW. Could someone explain if these are sit down rides or just stand up's and listen to the stories?

Nemo in Epcot is a omnimover dark ride.
In this update, (http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=wd061016mg) there's some additional detail

Nemo in Animal Kingdom is a musical with puppets.
Here's the MousePlanet page about it (http://www.mouseplanet.com/guide.php?pg=BFD203)

Toy Story Midway Mania is much like Buzz Lightyear in the MK, but on steroids. 3-D and you move from screen to screen, but for the most part you don't move while you're shooting targets.
Here's the Disneyland Resort page (http://www.mouseplanet.com/guide.php?pg=ABD110)about it from MousePlanet (the rides are the same, queue is different. Here's an article (http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mm080515jk)about the Queue, and another one (http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mm080520jk)about the ride itself

I've been on Toy Story at DL. It's a new version of Buzz Lightyear.
You wear 3D glasses and play 4-5 different midway shooting games. The cars are on a track and there is some spinning involved. Very exciting. The Nemo
rides are different: Anaheim rethemed the Submarine Voyage while MK uses
an Omnimover, like Haunted Mansion, to take you thru the attraction. I hear
it's pretty cool.
