We have a group of 23 of us going on the Magic on 5/2/09. When my family of 5 went on The Wonder last year we stayed at The Country Side Suites the night before. This was mostly because they offered a kids suite which allowed the 5 of us to be in one room. This is not an issue this year as the extra kido will room with Grandma. Last year we left our car at the hotel and used the hotel shuttle to get to and from the port. This whole experince worked out extremly well.
This time around we will be leaving home the day before the cruise (in four different vehicles) driving to MCO to pick up some family that will be flying in and then staying the night near the port.
I have been put in charge of figuring out where we will stay. We could do the Country Side Suites again. However, When I compared the room rates to The Radisson the Radisson was a much better deal.
Has anyone here ever stay at the Radisson? If so was it clean and safe? Did anyone leave a car here? If so did you feel comfortable doing this? Did you use their shuttle service? Was this a positive experince?
I am also open to any other hotels near the port that let you park on site while you cruise and shuttle you back and forth to the port. Please share your experiences.
Any advice you have would be greatly apperciated. Thanks in advance.

Just out of curiosity, was there a cost for the shuttle?

We will be doing the park and cruise deal. This includes the shuttle fee at The Country Side Suites. Otherwise it's $6.00 round trip per person. At the Radisson it's complimentary.

And, this is a hotel near the port or near WDW. That is way cheaper than ground transfers to and from the airport.

These hotels are only a few miles from the port. It's about an hour drive from MCO to the port. This is why airport to port transfers are so much more expensive.

In Oct. 2007, we stayed at The Raddison by the Port the night before our Disney Cruise. This is a great hotel. We booked a King Suite that has a separate bedroom with King Bed and a living room area with a sofa bed. Also a small kitchen area with table/chairs, microwave, sink and small fridge. When you book the cruise package at The Raddison, it includes leaving your vehicle for your entire cruise and the shuttle to and from the Port. As I said before, this hotel is great, the room was extremely nice, you get two complimentary breakfasts per room and it has an awesome looking pool (unfortunately we did not get to use the pool because of rain). I felt completely comfortable and safe at the hotel and with leaving my vehicle there for 7 days. You can call and schedule the time you want for the shuttle to the Port (it's free). Everything went very smoothly and everyone was very nice. They drop you off at the Port right where the porters are to take your bags. When you return, the shuttle picks you up and returns you to your vehicle. I very much recommend The Raddison. It's also the closest hotel to the Port.

Abitagirl: Thank you so much for this info. I just needed to know that someone had a positive experince with this hotel before I booked. I was worried about leaving the cars. You put my mind at ease.Thank again.

I have stayed at the Radisson twice and have recommended it to many clients. I have never heard anything bad.
