I need some information on the Boardwalk Villas. After booking the Beach Club Villas about two months ago, I saw online the 4 nights, 3 nights free deal and decided to see if I could get the discount. The discount wasn't available for the Beach Club, but I was able to change to the Boardwalk Villas and save almost $800 (plus add an extra night + extra day of dining). Needless to say... I am very excited!
But now I need opinions on the Boardwalk. About how much of a difference is the walk to Epcot and Studios compared to the BC? What are your general opinions on this resort for a honeymoon? :) Also, can I still visit the beach club sand-bottom pool?

You can't visit Stormalong Bay - sorry (at least to use it)
For going to Epcot, it's a bit longer of a walk (but not hugely longer), BUT it's the last boat stop before Epcot, so if your timing is good, it's quicker to walk. (If your timing is good at Beach, since the boat has to go to the Boardwalk, it's quicker to walk).
For going to the Studios, you have to stop at the Beach Club/Yacht Club dock. If you're on the end of the Boardwalk near the Swan/Dolphin, though, you can walk over to their dock, which is the last before the longer portion of the trip to the Studios.
If you're walking to the Studios, it's closer from the Boardwalk than from Beach Club.
Congrads on scoring the deal!

Personally, I think scoring the deal was worth the change. Ive been to the BW once and I have always wanted to go back. The location is great and like what Drince mentioned, you are pretty much walking distance from Epcot and DHS.
I would not worry about not being able to use Stormalong Bay. The pool area at the BW is very nice and of a good size.
With some entertainment right at your doorsteps, I think it makes for a good location for a honeymoon stay. Some of the best eateries are right there or even across the lake at the BC/YC.

We stayed in the BWV in 2003 and they were great! Very big and spacious. The Location was amazing to. It depends on your room, but we were able to see Illuminations from our balcony(our view was of the pool). The resorts amenities are too, of course, very helpful. :D
Your going to have a great time at the Boardwalk Villas!

The BoardWalk is amazing - congratulations on the marriage and on saving some money and I'm sure newlyweds can use the money somewhere!
I'm not sure when your dates are but Stormalong Bay is down for a rehab ~January 5 - April 15, 2009, so you might have been missing out on the BC/YC pool even if staying there.
I actually think for your situation (2 adults on a honeymoon), you will do great over at the BoardWalk with the extra dining venues, as GusMan points out. And, I think the pool is wonderful.
Have a magical honeymoon!

Thanks everyone. I feel really good about our decision. We will be going in May/June. But the more I think about it, the more I'm not too concerned with the pool issue. I know we will have plenty of things to keep us busy, so who knows if we will even use the pool much.
