Our trip is planned for the beginning of Dec. We are not going to MVMCP, but am wondering about the lighting of the castle and fireworks on the nights MVMCP is not offered. Are the fireworks different? Is the castle lit in the "castle dream lights" every night or just MVMCP?

Hi Nikkithepooh,
The castle lighting ceremony happens every night during the holiday season, not just on party nights. It was called Cinderella's Holiday Wish last year, and it was at 5:45pm. It is different from the fireworks.
The regular "Wishes" fireworks show will most likely happen every night except party nights (unless there are more budget cuts). On party nights, they will have the Christmas version of Wishes. Once the last party is over in late December, the Christmas version will present every night.
We were there the first week of December 2007, and the castle was lit in the Dreamlights every night, and it was breathtaking. Take lots and lots of pictures!
My DH and I did attend the party for the first time during that trip, and in my opinion, you will not be missing anything if you don't do the party. Others will disagree with me, and I will grant, we had no children with us, and we're not parade fans.
Have a wonderful trip!

We will be excited too! Those lights look so cool on the Disney website...can't wait to see the castle lighting. I can miss the snow on Main Street though...as we are from Cleveland and we've already seen some!

We saw the castle lighting before Thanksgiving and it was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Walt Disney World. I believe that those lights on the castle are one of the most stunning sights I've ever seen at a Disney park. It is absolutely true that photos can't do it justice.

So much information...so little memory left! What time is the lighting ceremony? I think I read 5:45...is that correct? Can't keep it all straight anymore. Also, Osborne Spec. of Lights...does that start at 6pm? Going in just a few days...SO EXCITED. But have to finalize my itinerary. Thanks for all your input over the last several months!
