Is there a way to get a wheelchair to go from the Disneyland Hotel through Downtown Disney to get to the front gates?

It's a bit of a trip, but there are sidewalks all the way there. I've done it pushing my wife in the wheel chair. I think you should be able to get a shuttle, but it may be faster to take the walkway.

You also don't have to go all the way to the front gate to get into the park, presuming you're going to DL and not DCA. From the Disneyland Hotel, you could just go to the monorail and take that in.

But is there a place to rent the wheelchair in DTD? I am concerned because each year we take my mom and she is having a harder time walking around due to an illness and I'm trying to figure out the best thing I can do for her. We plan to go into both parks so I was hoping there was someway to get from the Disneyland Hotel to the entrance of DCA and DL easier for her.

Taking the Monorail and then having to make it all the way from TL to the main entrance is just as bad. :(

You can rent wheelchairs and strollers inside the Star Trader, so you can take the Monorail in and just walk to that store, if it makes life easier.

If you are staying at one of the onsite hotels, there are usually wheelchairs available to the onsite guests on a first-come-first-served basis. Alternatively, you can rent from an offsite company that delivers the wheelchair or ECV to your resort. If you are local, you can rent from these companies at their storefront locations. If you click on the link in my signature, there is a link to companies that do wheelchair and ECV rentals. I believe there is similar info on the MousePlanet TAG as well. :)
