How is the view from the second and third row?Its actually pretty good. I've been seated in the back row and had no problems. Sometimes I actually prefer the back row, as I move my seat back and get just a little more leg room.

I rode with the Mark Twain captain the other day and he told me the Fantasmic show has a new dragon, and they have improved the visual effects on the water screens. He said the improvements are great, but I haven't seen it yet. maybe next weekend.

How much is the priority seatings at Riverside?

You call 30 days out (714-781-4400) and reserve your tickets. They are $59, $49 for 9 and under. Your card is charged immediately, there are no refunds (except if the show doesn't go off...) When you get to Disneyland, you can pick up your tickets at Guest Services (I do it the day before.) Day of, you line up at the podium, pick your seats, then go enjoy the rides until 30 mins before the show, then come back to be seated.

I would agree that the view is not too bad--if you are an adult! We have gone three times. The first time we had great seats, the second time I didn't get in line earlier enough and we ended up in the second row. My hubby and I didn't mind, but my little ones had a hard time seeing over the adults in the front row. The CM was great--he moved the chairs over a bit to get a better view for them.

Bottom line--if you have kids, get in the front row!

I've read conflicting reports on this...does anyone know whether or not Fantasmic will run in January? Specifically the weekend of the 23-25?

Is it possible to still purchase premium seating on the day of? We're flying stand-by so everything we're planning is tentative right now.

Is there a "bad" view in the front row or a section that is better? My bf is watching our finances for this trip, so I need to make sure I make it worth our money when he finds out how much it costs.

Where is the podium specifically? I can visualize where the setup is and recall seeing chairs in the past, I don't think I've ever walked by the area during check in. I'll be staking out the area so I'd like to be able to make that rush to the podium. :)

greetings

we attended the 9:30 seating of Fantasmic on Saturday Nov. 29th. I had no problems calling and reserving the seats about 3 weeks out. We did try to pick up the tickets on Friday the 28th at the customer service window near DCA, but they said they could only be picked up on the day of the event. Arrived as the window opened for the day and had no problems getting the tickets(though I was glad I remembered to grab my drivers license from the hotel room, since they wanted ID.) We checked the area for seating around 6:30pm, and they were just starting to set up. we returned at 6:55pm and there was already a line of about 7 people. We ended up standing in line till 8pm. then the person announced that they were open, and a 2nd person with a notebook came down the line asking if anyone was there for the later show. since several of the people in front of us were, they moved off to the side with the notebook person, and we were about the 3rd group to sign up for seats. we got front row, furthest section in (towards the center of the stage.)there were 4? people to our right, then us, then a couple of people to our left. We were seated promptly at 9pm, though there was a bit of a crowd instead of a line at the entrance at that point. The box of snacks was a good selection of crackers, cheeses, grapes, cookies, and pastries. drink selection was good. I had hot chocolate and my husband had diet coke. neither of us ate everything, since it was soon after a late dinner, but it was nice to have the stuff to take back to the hotel fridge for later.

the biggest problems we had were that 1) the seating area view is between the water screens. we get a good view of what's on the island, but not of what's on the screens. and 2) the large brick lamp-post/fence supports cut off our views to either side. we could not see the initial few minutes of the entrance of any of the boats, and could not see the final stuff on the pirate ship (hook swinging, etc).

my husband still would rather pay for this seating then wait and sit on the ground, but it bothered me to not see everything on either end, and we probably could have claimed good ground space at 6:55pm, and not have had to pay the $$$, while having the same amount of actual wait time.

Rockchalk, you might be better off picking a spot on the river than paying the money for the pathetic priority seating now available. The spot to view isn't exactly prime, you get a "snack box" which isn't anything close to the desert buffet. Without the balcony it's pretty much pointless. I have great memories of sitting with my family, watching the sun set over ROA with snacks (- a mickey pretzel is tastier and less expensive than the snack box provided) of our own choosing. I have tried the priority deating (balcony was full) and the sevrice, "snacks," and view weren't really worth it. Grab a blanket, make some memories and enjoy a bit of family time as the anticipation builds- or just pay the money for the sub-par experience (IMO), your choice. Hope your family has a great trip!
I did priortiy seating for Electric Parade at DCA and was highly disappointed. You are seated new the Vineyard so you are elevated but you get an antipasta platter served on plastic with wine served in plastic and plastic forks and knives. For $58 I expected glass and china like the old desert buffet was at the Gallery for Fantasmic (minus the wine of course).

We just did this a week or so ago, and I thought it was great!!! My kids are 3 and 2, and they just wouldn't sit still if we had to "reserve" our own seats.

We had the last row (thanks to this thread, I asked for the last row since the person right in front of me in line took the last front row seats), and that was great. The kids could stand on our laps / chairs and see great and we had a bit of room to move around.

Staying put for the fireworks and a last ride on Pirates made getting out of the park an absolute breeze as well.
