We arrive late on Dec 13. Since we are from the West Coast, the time difference will still be in our favor (in terms of staying up late, not for getting up early!). The first day (Sunday, Dec. 14) we will be spending at Animal Kingdom. We have dinner ADR for Boma's at 4:30pm. I am thinking of getting tickets to MVMCP for that evening.
Would it be worth it if we went after dinner, or should we plan on another day when we can get to the park a little earlier? I am thinking 45 minutes for dinner (if we get there right before it opens, and we are pretty quick eaters), then counting on one hour to get from Animal Kingdom Lodge for MK. Should I plan more time? or should I just plan it for another day?
Thanks - Kristin

My take - Do MVMCP only when you can make the most of it. If you get there too late, your are going to miss a lot of cool festivities.
And to be honest, if you are going to spend money on a hard-ticketed event, you are going to want to get every moment you can out of the party. (ie: being there right at the start.)

I agree with GusMan. You also don't want to rush dinner (especially dessert at Boma!).
Additionally, have you flown cross-country much? When I lived in Portland and had to fly to the East Coast, it didn't take much for me to get on the Eastern Time Zone, because I was usually not getting much sleep the night before (to catch that early flight, and due to excitement if it was for something fun). Additionally, the stress of traveling could add a bit of incentive to get my body on the time that matched the clocks (it wore me out some). So don't count a lot on the time zone thing working significantly in your favor if you don't have a lot of experience with it.
You definitely want to get the most out of a hard ticket event. You can enter the MK as early as 4pm on the day of the party. Would definitely opt for that(whenever you chose to do the party) over an ADR-especially one that can be as time consuming as AKL. Not that the time isn't worth it-Boma is terrific. Just that I chose to either eat before the party at a hotel that closer to the MK-or just do counter service within the park that day. Yes, you could do LTT or Tony's or somewhere else during the party-but the same thing applies-do you really want to spend party time and expense, sitting at a TS?

I so agree with the others. You will want to get the most of your MVMCP! How about dinner at O'hana's. Another great choice for good food and fun atmosphere! I wouldn't rush Boma's! You will want to make time to stroll out onto the viewing areas to appreciate the wonder of this resort!
