In Disneyland, we always look for the giant candy canes and pumpkin fudge during the holidays. What special holiday treats should I look for during our trip, and where can I find them?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Drince88 10-27-2008, 04:44 PM Gingerbread from the Gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian - Especially if it's the kind that has chocolate on one side! It also goes well when purchased in Germany with Oktoberfest beer! tjrj 10-29-2008, 07:07 AM Goofy's Candy Company in DTD has pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate(they always have those) but during the holidays they can be rolled in crushed candy canes. I asked if they could do that during a trip in May-and I got a very strange look-followed by "no, only at Christmas". What can I say-salty pretzel, melted chocolate, minty candy canes...one of my favorite things! KJSJpipe 10-29-2008, 05:40 PM What can I say-salty pretzel, melted chocolate, minty candy canes...one of my favorite things! Ooh That sounds good! I will have to try to remember to get one when we are there. Oh, those sound absolutely amazing!! I so wish that WDW Merchandising could ship baked goods! tdelaney_98 10-30-2008, 08:03 AM I don't know as I have only been at Christmas time once, in 1975. HOWEVER, I'm REALLY looking forward to checking it all out. I think I'll need another 6 or 7 memory sticks for my camera!! njtravelerof6 10-30-2008, 12:01 PM Mrs Mouse - why not try making your own? I made chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles for a school bake sale one year and they went over big! Very easy to make and the kids can help, too. kkmickey 10-30-2008, 12:33 PM At Ghiradelli * eggnog white chocolate and peppermint bark * sundae with two kinds of peppermint ice cream and white chocolate sauce I can't believe there isn't anything else to look for. Those of you who are going during the holidays, post when you find something special :) Drince88 10-30-2008, 03:17 PM I recall something about chestnuts at the Grand Floridian - but since I'm not a fan, I didn't pay much attention. Because a lot of people aren't local, most are focusing on the decorations and other events for Christmas, and not any specific food item. KJSJpipe 10-30-2008, 06:41 PM At Ghiradelli * sundae with two kinds of peppermint ice cream and white chocolate sauce DH & I get these most nights when we are there the week after Thanksgiving the are TO DIE FOR!!! :p <~~~Licking lips! AudieL 10-30-2008, 08:02 PM There are gingerbread cookies at the American Pavilion in the Worldshowcase, they are so yummy! And the fudge from the Main Street Bakery is a favorite of my family! Of course a Mickey Rice Krispie treat while taking in all of the beautiful Christmas decorations is quite yummy too! Have fun! yankeelover 10-31-2008, 12:55 PM Gingerbread from the Gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian - Especially if it's the kind that has chocolate on one side! Because a lot of people aren't local, most are focusing on the decorations and other events for Christmas, and not any specific food item. They do in fact roast chestnuts right outside the front door to the Grand Floridian. I had some last year. They were yummy! Drince88 11-01-2008, 03:49 AM not to get off topic, but how much is the gingerbread house? my son wants to bring one back for his teacher for christmas:D I have absolutely no clue. The "House" I was talking about is not for sale, the shop is made out of gingerbread! They sell "shingles" and such at the house, as well as "regular size" gingerbread houses. I'd guess they're pretty spendy, though. cheshirecatgirl 11-01-2008, 06:52 AM I always get pumpkin fudge, YUM, and the frosted rice krispie treats in the shape of Christmas trees. I tried the shingle from the GF's gingerbread house, and I didn't think it was that good. I had more fun reading all the ingredients they used to make the house! tjrj 11-04-2008, 12:46 PM not to get off topic, but how much is the gingerbread house? my son wants to bring one back for his teacher for christmas:D Oh! I saw those gingerbread houses on the Food Network several years ago. They look absolutely beautiful. And I know they ship them, 'cause the show made a point of mentioning it. Just not sure of the cost though-sorry:( 91wingnut 11-08-2008, 04:44 PM I bought my wife a gingerbread house from the Grand Floridian last December. For those who may not know, the pastry chefs there construct a lifesize gingerbread house which looks incredible. inside the house is a sales desk where you can buy the "roof shingle" gingerbread cookies with the chocolate on the back. I believe they were about 8 dollars a piece. They also sell two types of gingerbread houses, a smaller one for about 40 dollars and a rather highly detailed one that is larger and costs around 60 dollars. I bought this one for my wife. it has a Mickey wreath on the front, sants by the chimney, as well as angels, animals, etc all around it. There is even a hidden Mickey on the back. We took it as carry on on the plane home, and my wife has it displayed on a cake plate with the plastic wrap still on it. While it has dried out some and has faded a bit, it still looks good a year later and has not broken up at all. Hope this helps....:fez: garethanders 11-09-2008, 11:28 AM Wow all these sound great, i go next year and i think ill have to lose a few pounds more before i put it all back on again lol kkmickey 11-09-2008, 06:54 PM I am hoping to hear about more unique and yummy treats as it gets closer to Christmas. deanglin 11-10-2008, 01:24 PM We got a very yummy Peppermint Bark Chocolate Bar- they are a rich layer of minty dark confection and bits of peppermint candy canes topped with white truffle fudge.
