i have a little question- i have seen when people order shakes for their drinks(yum) instead of a soda. does this cost extra or is it just charged as a drink? also can kids do this too? we are on the dp. and we are eating at sci-fi and 50"s and i would love to get shakes for the cost of a drink.

I'm about 99% sure it will be an extra cost, but what the hey, you're on vacation! Drink up!

Someplaces allow you to get a milkshake as your dessert on the dining plan.

Much like it was already said, milkshakes or smoothies are most likely not included as a "drink" but may be available as a dessert.
We did this a couple of times in the past ourselves. We wanted something sweet but did not want to wait all that long. Got some shakes and we were on our way...

I don't know if you've had them before, but the sci-fi milkshakes are ah-mazing. If you don't decide to use a dp credit for it, I'd highly suggest stopping by to get one to-go before getting in a long line... totes makes it go faster.

I think the whispering canyon's shakes were extra, but were also all-you-can-drink.

My husbands very favorite milkshake is at the Prime Time Cafe, it's the peanut butter milkshake and it tastes just like a peanut butter sandwich! He makes a point of getting one each time we go!

While there in September for free dining we had milkshakes at Le Cellier and 50s prime time cafe as our "drink" for the table service meal. What the CM told us was that you got one milk shake, or unlimited soda refills. The chocolate raspberry shake when combined with the chocolate whiskey cake and the chocolate moose made a an amazing death by chocolate dessert at Le Cellier.

DD and DH got milkshakes on the regular DP at 50's Prime Time in August. Be very careful when you pour from the jug into the glass.... Actually they are like a meal!
