Then, a nice lunch is a great way to break up the day, and figure out the afternoon's strategy. But this opinion is based solely on strategy, not food offerings. mickeymom5 10-16-2008, 03:38 PM We just recently ate lunch at the Crystal Palace at their earliest sitting for lunch. Our reservations were for 11:30 am. We counted it as breakfast and lunch. The food was good. We used this day as our "sleep in" day. We did not get to MK until 11:20. We enjoyed it and would do lunch there again! GusMan 10-16-2008, 04:16 PM Personally, I like going for an early breakfast. It is a real treat to walk down Main Street without a lot of people around. Makes for a great, quick photo op with the castle as the background. We time it so that we get out of there right as the park is opening. As for food offerings, only been there for breakfast (one of our faves) but we plan on having lunch there in a couple of weeks. THpoohbear 10-16-2008, 05:19 PM Ditto was Gusman said... all of it except the part about eating lunch there in a couple of weeks. :p Unfortunately, no trip planned for me in the near future. But I do love breakfast there right when it opens. LOVE IT! Drince88 10-17-2008, 04:24 AM I've only had lunch there, and I really enjoyed it. I'm not a fan of buffets on principle, and usually travel without any kids and character meals aren't a draw for me, but I was with my sister and her family, so we decided to do this 'for the boys' (the fact that my BIL is a MAJOR Tigger fan was a big bonus). I thought the selections of foods was nice, well prepared, and everyone really enjoyed the food. I'm also not a huge fan of breakfast food (it's really boring to me), and when we were there the parks opened at 8am, so going 'before the parks opened' wasn't an option (they weren't open) and I was not willing to give up a golden hour in the morning to eating, so we decided for lunch. DoodleMushyBoo 10-17-2008, 06:56 AM i am a breakfast fan - we've done the winnie the pooh and friends breakfast, we usually eat late-ish like 10:30am and its very relaxed and the food really is good. but i don't have a huge experience with lunch there either. jengold29 10-17-2008, 08:58 AM I've done breakfast and dinner (I think the menu is the same from lunch through dinner) and much prefer dinner. Breakfast buffets are all pretty much the same- eggs, bacon, suasage, waffles or pancakes, fruit, breads, etc. I really like some of the CP menu items at dinner time. njtravelerof6 10-17-2008, 09:40 AM We've only done the breakfast character buffet at Crystal Palace and loved being let into MK early and taking that stroll down Main Street with hardly anybody else around! The food was pretty good but with little ones mostly goes to waste since they're not big breakfast eaters necessarily. It's a great way to start a day though. Parktowne 10-17-2008, 01:06 PM I have only been for dinner (not much on big breakfast). This is the only buffet that we have tried that my husband really liked. As a matter of fact we will be eating there 11/7 for his birthday (his choice:D). We don't have kids so it is really only about the kids (not Pooh fans). marisag 10-18-2008, 07:36 AM I agree about the early breakfast. It's great being in the park when there are barely any other people there. That being said-- I like the lunch food a little better and if you are not a morning person it can be hard to get up early enough to get there before the park opens. polyfan0129 10-20-2008, 09:22 AM I've only dined there for lunch and dinner, so I cannot comment on breakfast. I've dined at CP twice, and both times were great. IMO, the food is the best in the Magic Kingdom. There is a lot of selection, and the staff doesn't make you rush through your meal. I also love the fact that CP is in the Magic Kingdom. It's a great way to end your day. :) Bell30655 10-25-2008, 04:48 PM Just think about this... If you are having breakfast there, the restaurant is open an hour before the park is open. What a way to get a character meal in PRIOR to park opening and not waste any valuable park time. Drince88 10-26-2008, 04:44 PM Just think about this... If you are having breakfast there, the restaurant is open an hour before the park is open. What a way to get a character meal in PRIOR to park opening and not waste any valuable park time. This is dependent on the time the park opens. If you're going at a busier time when the park is opened earlier, the restaurant will NOT be open before park opening! |
