INTRODUCTION
We were a group of five adults and four kids ranging in ages from 1.5 to almost 6. I've been to DL with little kids enough to believe the more planning, the better. Our days were planned VERY carefully via RideMax (and with Mouseplanet's help - thank you) and the results were great! Kids rode about 21 different rides (a few twice) and the longest they ever waited was ten minutes (and they complained about that!). After kids went to bed (with grandma watching) the adults went back to the parks for the big-kid thrill rides.
THURSDAY, OCT. 9
11 am Flew into Santa Ana.
1 pm - 3pm
The two six-year old girls went straight from the airport to the park, where they spent two full hours at the Princess Fantasy Faire. We gave them $40 each and told them that's all they were getting out of us for the trip, which worked great. No begging or gimmes and they were both very careful shoppers - my daughter ended the trip with $13. The rest of us went straight to the hotel, which after much begging gave us one of our three rooms at 1:30 pm for naptime. Readers should know that if they book multiple rooms at the hotel they might get better service: They rushed one of our rooms for early check in and we also got upgraded to a higher floor.
3:30-5:00 pm
Everyone met at Tarzan's treehouse and did Enchanted Tiki Room (10 min wait), Jungle Cruise (2 min wait) and Winnie the Pooh (no wait). The park looked *very* busy. Meanwhile one of us ran over and got FastPasses to Indiana.
5:10 pm
Goofy's Kitchen dinner - a little chaotic for my taste but the food was at least edible and the kids seemed to like it.
7:30 pm
After the kids were in bed with Grandma the adults returned to Disneyland and rode Indiana Jones, Matterhorn, Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain. We got the first car for Space Mountain and loved it! We hadn't ridden since the redo and it was really trippy. Waiting was minimal except for Space, where the ride broke down for about 20 minutes.
Note: There were a *lot* of breakdowns during our trip - like five or six! But with the exception of the Railroad we were still able to do all of them.
Gotta run but more later!
