I like building two better - and a lot of people have posted the same. It's a newer building, all the rooms face away from the freeway, it overlooks the quiet pool. I don't have a lot of complaints about the room we had the time we stayed in Building One away from the freeway, but if I'm given a choice, I'd pick 2.

Having stayed in building 1 once, facing the interstate, and then staying in building 2 - it's building 2, hands down, for me. I will pay more to be in building 2 vs building 1 facing the interstate -- and I generally don't paymore for view or location in a hotel.

They had a double-door (like you have on connecting room) on the 'balcony' facing the interstate, and it still really didn't deaden the sound enough for me, and I'm NOT normally picky about noise. I still don't understand why they even had the balconies -who wants to sit outside (if it was wide enough for a chair, even) and face the Interstate.

Also, building 1 is tall enough that many floors you would NOT walk up at the end of hte day, or even down at the beginning of the day (I put that limit about at the 4th floor or so). So you'd have to wait for elevators. I'm not really patient when it comes to waiting for elevators, so I like Building 2 because I can scoot down the stairs (or even up) fairly quickly.

So glad to hear that - I was in building 2 no matter what because it has the 2 Queens with the Fridge and MICRO and the Microwave was a make or break for us! But the more I learned about building 2 ( the whereabouts in relation to other things and the lower # of floors) the more I was sure I would be happiest there...

What you have said makde me even happier with my choice... And I "requested" a top floor as I am normally OK with noise but hearing people above me drives me CRAZY.. Especially if I can hear the shower!

We stayed in building two as well. No road or parking lot noise. No one was in the quiet pool either so no noise there. However, the towels are less than desirable in the room. I opened mine up after my shower and there was other people's hair  in my towel and subsequently on my leg another piece! I got clean towels but always checked them first as it kinda grossed me out. Probably be bringing my own towels if staying there again. The hotel was nice and the staff very helpful and friendly. With a ten minute walk to and from the park I did not think that was bad. :)

On the other side, B1 is actually quite nice. The Premium DLR view rooms from the top floors of B1 have a spectacular view of the parks through the tops of the pine trees. I'll have to post some pictures when I get my album together. The AP and EB rates are some of the best bang for buck when they are available.

Building 1 was the first to have the upgraded beds with duvets, microwave and fridge. With the ban on all smoking in all buildings, B1 got even better. The only down side I can think of - the elevator wait can be long during heavy use.
