Who ever is adding [bracketed] words to thread topics is doing it right. I can now find out more what the thread is about, rather than finding out. It helps me "get ready" for the thread. What a good thing! :)

I agree that whomever is adding those (or the multiple whomevers doing it) has a great idea. I like thread titles that give you some indication of what the post is about, but in cases where that's not clear, it's nice to have a hint.
That would be me. I am pretty careful to use it only when the subject is too cryptic, but it's the same format one would use when substituting or adding a word in a quote in a news article. Please note that this does not affect the original poster's post at all. :)

...the original poster cuts off the title to keep you guessing.
I tend to avoid those threads or just give half answers.
