I've asked this in a few other threads, but have yet to get a response... so I'll start a new one :)
I am visiting in May, and I'm planning to try out 'Ohana for the first time. Is it true that you can see MK fireworks from the Polynesian Beach? It is my honeymoon, and since I'm not staying at this resort I thought we could still relax on the beach and watch the fireworks instead of fighting the MK crowds. Thoughts?
What time would be best to eat and then go to the beach and watch the fireworks?

Yes! You can absolutely see the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian Resort. They're beautiful, even from afar.
In May, I'll guess that the Magic Kingdom fireworks would be around 9:30 pm but you could verify that with Walt Disney World dining reservations when you book your Ohana dinner reservation.

We stayed at the Poly about a month ago and we watched the fireworks from the beach right by the pool. It was cool to watch it from there, but at the same time I missed the music. I swore someone on here said they would pipe in the music, but they did not in the area I was sitting in.

We watched them from the poly beach in '07. They piped in the music, but you had to be on the beach near the Hawaii building to hear it, a little bit away from the pool. You'd want to double check the times for when you're there, but back then you needed to be there by 9:00p to see the Electric Water Parade and then the fireworks were at 10:00p. When we saw them the beach in that area didn't really fill up. We got snack at Captain Cooks and got to the beach around 9:45 for the fireworks.
It's a lot of fun. It was the first time I'd poked around the Polynesian, now I want to stay there ... maybe somday!

I watched the fireworks at Poly in July almost every night for a week from room 1513 in Hawaii. The room was actually somewhat far away from the pool(where the music speakers are) so you had to strain you ears to hear it. But the closer you were to the pool, the better the sound was.
As for the time, I figured wishes was at 10 all year round.

Thanks! So when would be a good time to make ADR for Ohana?

I would plan to eat no later than 1.5 hours before Wishes. Maybe even 2 hours if you are interested in getting a good spot on the beach. There are hammocks on the beach in several spots as well as beach chairs. We watched Wishes from the Polynesian beach (or from our balcony in Hawaii) almost every night for a week in July. It was my favorite thing about the Polynesian.

Go to the Tabmu Lounge in the GCH and get a drink to bring down to the beach with you. You won't regret it!

Umm, did you mean in the Poly? I'd guess so, since the GCH is kind of a long walk away . . .

GCH is the Grand Ceremonial House at the Poly. IT is their main building with Ohana and Kona and the lobby etc....:D
