View Full Version : Le Cellier
Edward 09-27-2008, 07:43 PM We are planning our first time to LeCellier, wife 2 DDs ages 6 & 9. From what I have read it sounds like a great place. The wife and I like steak, prime rib and fillet Mignon.
I have a some questions
1) With the dinning plan you get an entree, dessert and beverage. I read on Allears about the menu at LeCellier and they have listed the appetizers which was soups and salads, does one of these come as part of your meal and would be included in the dinning plan or will we have to pay for one of these ourselves?
2) What is the best steak they serve?
3) Will our kids like the food? "cheese soup"?
4) What is their best dessert?
5) We have ADR for 8:15 on a Friday that Epcot has EMHs in the pm ,plan to stay after dinner to enjoy the extra hours. Couldn't get an earlier ADR like at 7pm. Do you think if we arrive earlier (7:30) could we get in?
6) Does it take a long time to get served and get out?
Thanks Ed

They are not part of DDP and would, as the tip, have to be paid for out of pocket.
2) What is the best steak they serve?
Probably the Maple Filet
3) Will our kids like the food? "cheese soup"?
Sorry but I have no idea of your kids likes or dislikes.
4) What is their best dessert?
I think the Maple Creme Brulee, but the kids might really like the Chocolate Moose.

It really depends on how crowded it is the day you are going.
6) Does it take a long time to get served and get out?
They are pretty good about service speed.
scoobydooby 09-28-2008, 03:40 PM Hi Edward - you will have to pay for adult starters out of pocket on the DDP, but if your children order off one of the children's 'set' menus, they actually get 3 courses. You will all also get a bread stick basket for free at the start of the meal which should keep them quiet if you order starters and they don't. I just ate there in August and my children are reasonably fussy, but this was one of my son's favourite meals. Steak that had not been messed about with or flavoured and real chips (big fat ones not skinny fries) - he was happy! As for the chocolate 'moose' mouse. Not available as part of the set children's menu but I ordered it and barley got to smell it before my duaghter gobbled it up. It is a pudding designed for little people! As for the soup, if your children will eat soup as a type of food, but only in a flavour they like, and they like cheese, they'll love it.
Rockchalker 09-28-2008, 04:28 PM When we to Le Cellier a couple of weeks ago my brother, SIL, and DH all ordered off a special section at the top of the menu that DID include the appetizer of the regular dining plan. Something I really wanted was not on that special so I ordered my appetizer a la carte and got my entree, drink, and dessert in the dining plan. So it may be possible to get your appetizer included within the dining plan. Another thing I remember about the Dining Plan was the beverages. Some places (Le Cellier being one) had extravagant beverage options included with the regular dining plan.
By far the highlight of my teen DS's and myself. Wonderful food, terrific service and only one credit on the dining plan.
Oldest ds had salmon; youngest and myself had the maple filet-tender, flavorful. I highly recommend the cream cheese mashed potatoes.
Desserts-creme brulee was great and the chocolate moose(moosse in the shape of a moose) was adorable.
Breadsticks-tried them all and the pretzel was all our favorite. Didn't get to try the cheddar cheese soup-next time though!
The children's menu actually looks fairly decent at Le Cellier-as compared to some other TS places.
From what I remember, service was paced perfectly-neither too fast or too slow.
Also highly recommend the ice wine:)

Ice wine??!? I missed the ice wine!!! I guess we will have to go back! :D But I will be making my reservations the first day possible next year!! (We were lucky to get reservations at 4:40.)
The waiter we had at Le Cellier was by far and away the best waiter we had the whole vacation. He gave us several breadsticks for "the road." It was the only time we tipped more than the required 18%.
Edward 09-28-2008, 06:42 PM Thanks for all your input ! Looking forward to this place.
Thanks Ed:~D

Oh, the horror of having to go back:D. The ice wine was terrific-pricey but really worth it.
It's the first ADR I made-and it's on the agenda along with Cali Grill(thanks Dan) to be first this next time.

Just wanted to emphasize this. We ate at Le Cellier on 09.16.2008 and were told that special menu section is something the restaurant is trying out. The top section includes a few appetizers, plus a few entrees, and as long as you choose from that section, you can indeed get an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert with your DDP entitlement.

I have heard very good things about the California Grill, so I, too, will be adding that to my ADRs. This last trip we started planning in the middle of May (with the free dining offer) so most of the good ADRs were gone by the time we had decided to go.

Alas, my plans for October have changed. I was able to still book into plenty of great dining, but the one meal I was most looking forward to - dinner at the California Grill, booked 180 days before the start of my trip - is the one that I can't re-book for my new dates. Ah well, always a good reason to start planning next year's trips!
