My son has a PSP. He just bought a brand new game and it is asking if he wants to upgrade. It states once he upgrades he can not go back. Is there any reason not to upgrade? If he upgrades will his older games still work?
Thanks.

I don't have a PSP so this is conjecture -- but it's probably pretty close. The PSP was shipped with, let's say, firmware version 1.0 (firmware is the operating system for the PSP that loads and runs games). Later, Sony makes firmware version 1.1 available and ships it with new PSPs. Later still, a game comes out that requires a feature only available in firmware version 1.1, so that upgrade is included with the game. The first time you start the game, it will upgrade the firmware for you. Older games should have no problem working with the newer firmware.
Bottom line, you shouldn't be concerned about this.

Thank you. That made perfect sense. My son has upgraded and has been enjoying his new game and his old games.
