View Full Version : Dining rotation
babekate 09-27-2008, 08:07 AM Hi all!
Today I could book my spa and Palo reservations. I booked the Cabana Massage for couples and made Palo reservations for the third night (of a three night cruise December 11-14)
I booked my Palo reservation for the third night but now I am afraid that I may be missing the Animators Palette dinner and I don't want to miss that. When do you find out your dining rotation and is it easy to change nights if I did book on the AP night?
Thanks for all the help.
I booked my Palo reservation for the third night but now I am afraid that I may be missing the Animators Palette dinner and I don't want to miss that. When do you find out your dining rotation and is it easy to change nights if I did book on the AP night? You find out your dining rotation when you check in - that's one of the last things the ship does (once they have a near-final count of both bodies and party sizes), and so you can't get it early.
You can *request* a specific dining rotation before you board, but there are no guarantees. The APT rotation is popular for 3-night cruises because that gives you the first night in Animator's, second / pirate night in Parrot Cay and the final "dress up" night in Triton's. We try to request one of two servers (whichever one is working when we're sailing), so we get whatever rotation they are working.
Changing rotations can be easy or difficult, just depending on how full the ship is. On this cruise we had to accept the early seating to get our favorite server - his rotation didn't have a 2nd seating because there were about 800 fewer passengers than normal. If you get the PTA rotation, you may have to accept a different seating time if you want to change to another rotation. You'll know which rotation you got as soon as you get your room key, so if you need to change it head straight to Rockin' Bar D as soon as you board to make the change. If the ship is really full, or you have an odd-size party, it may be easier for them to change your Palo night / time than to change your rotation.
Hope this helps - let me know if you have any other questions!

babekate 10-05-2008, 08:16 PM I have made Palo reservations for our last night of the 3 night cruise. I guess I will run to my room and check our dining rotation (or will I know this when I check in at the parks) and then run over to Rockin' Bar D If we have AP on the last night. Thanks for the advise :)

If you're on a Land and Sea package, you'll likely know as soon as you receive your room key - it will be printed right on the key. Look for some combination of the letters "A" "P" and "T" on your key - that will tell you what rotation you have.

Hey all- we are on our s night land r night sea vacation. The poly is beautiful! Just wanted to mention that our room key doesn't have our dining rotation on it. I guess you find out once on the ship.

Are you on a Disney land/sea, or 'doing your own' combination? If you're on 'your own' you won't get it until you check in at the Port. If you're on a Disney land/sea, I'm kind of surprised. You might want to check in with the cruise desk and verify that you don't have to check in again when you get to the port.
Mrs. GusMan 01-15-2009, 02:48 PM My TA suggested to me today to book Palo as late as possible so then you can still go to the different restaurants with your kids as your rotation is scheduled, eat light and still make your Palo ressies! Its a thought!
We've never been to Palo but I hear its to die for!

I booked out dinner at Palo for 6:30pm(no daycare available for the brunch) so we could be at the dinner with our kids that nite too. I didn't wan't to miss Animator's either! We have the late dinner seating.
