I expect I may be posting a lot of stupid questions here over the next year. :D

I searched before I asked so if I missed the answer, please forgive me, K?

Kids Clubs.

Here's what I've found...

Simba's Clubhouse (AKL) (see! I know abbreviations. Maybe I'm not so stupid.)
Sandcastle Club (Beach Club)
Mouseketeers Club (GF)
Neverland Club (PR)

Ok, that's all I can find. Here are my questions:

1- Did I miss any or is that list exhaustive?

2- Do you need to be staying at that particular resort or on-property to use the clubs? (I am 99.9999% sure we'll be on property so it doesn't matter about on-property but I figured I'd throw it in there.)

3- Does the cost include the meal or is there an additional cost to feed the kids?

4- Is the cost consistent between clubs or does one cost more than another?

5- The most recent online price I found by searching was $11/hour a year ago for Simba's Clubhouse. Is that about right still? Our trip is a year away so I'm looking just at approximates so exacts aren't critical.

6- Is there a reason that any of the Clubs is better than any other club? Are there any big differences between them?

Thank you ever so much. :)

Adrienne

Hi Adrienne,
Check out this recent link (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=113431) over at the WDW board. It may help answer some of your questions.

While I have never tried one, I only hear good things about them.

And you know that there are no stupid questions... except for the one that is never asked. :)

Hi Adrienne!

First, there are no stupid questions! Part of the pleasure of going to Walt Disney World is the planning!

In addition to the childcare programs you've listed, there are several other options:

Camp Dolphin (Swan and Dolphin)
Cub's Den (Wilderness Lodge)

Hourly prices seem to be consistent among these locations, presently $11 per hour. Prices include meals; some of these places have dinner at a certain time.

Some of these facilities are only available to Disney resort guests, others are limited to specific resort (or restaurants at the resort) guests, some require a minimum number of hours in the booking, so the best thing to do is to call the location you desire and ask questions so you are not disappointed. You can also make reservations at 407-WDW-DINE.

Some of these clubs are smaller than others, so space fills more quickly. My own children adored the Neverland Club at the Polynesian Resort, so I have high recommendations for that club.

There are also other childcare options available through several babysitting services. You can even make arrangements with the sitter--in advance--to take your kids to the theme parks. We had the same sitter on several occasions, so our daughter got to 'know' her sitter, and we liked that too. We had very positive experiences with this option and wouldn't hesitate to recommend using a service like this.

Of course, as with many things, prices, limitations, and specifics are always subject to change, so even if you book as soon as you have your travel plans established, it would be a good idea to have a follow-up call to make sure nothing has changed.

The only Deluxe resort that does not have a kid's club is the Contemporary. We wanted to use the service while we had dinner at the California Grill, and we used the center at the Grand Floridian and took the monorail back and forth. We have used three of them, and the cost is the same. All include the meal, although, in one case, the kids ate with us, and we dropped them off afterwards. I don't think you have to be staying at a Disney resort to use the service, but I would call and ask. All they really needed was our cell phone numbers. The kids' centers do not do diaper changes, and do not assist with toileting, but, as long as your child is toilet-trained, and if they are used to a day care type setting, they will have a good time.

My kids have been to 3 out of the 4 on your list (never done the neverland club) and if you ask them (now 10 and 6) they prefer Simba's CLubhouse.

The had the best food and art projects.

I **think** they may be up to $12/hour and there's a 4 hour minimum but they do feed them dinner and dessert/snacks.

I've always been given a beeper as well as providing my cell phone# and my expected location.

We used the Sandcastle Club for my kids when a group of us went to the Party for the Senses at the F&W Festival. They had a great time and it was pretty convenient to drop off/pick up since we would be at Epcot and the Beach Club is a short walk away. When we dropped them off we ordered them dinner and even got to choose from two different times for their meal (I forget the details it was 2 years ago). They both said they had a good time, DD even made a friend to hang out with for the night. If Sarah was not too old I would definitely do it again. :)
I thought the price was worth it and it was less then the Fairy Godmother would have been after you figured the hourly rate plus expenses for her and the kids to do something besides sit in the room for hours on end.
