We are bringing our toddler to the park for his first visit soon! I think he will like it all in general but are there any specific rides or attractions that your little one especially likes? Can we all (3) ride together on rides like Peter Pan or are most rides designed more for 1 parent and a child? Thanks!

Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Casey Jr. Train, Storybookland Canal Boats, King Arthur's Carrousel, Jungle Cruise... I am sure I'll think of others. But that will get you started.

Since my son was 6 months old we have been taking him to the happiest place on earth. He was able to get on:

Pirates
Dumbo
Small World
Casey Train (his favorite)
Tea cups
Carousel
Winnie the Pooh
Peter Pan
Haunted Mansion (Only did it once)

I woudn't take him on Mr. Toads or Snow White (too scary)

There is alot a toddler can do.
Oh don't forget Toon Town.

Have a great time.

Oh yeah- Jungle cruise

We've been on the rockets too. We still have not been on Nemo. Lines are way to long. That is where the dificulty lies with a toddler. Thay have little patience standing in lines.

Just a suggestion for Nemo, if your toddler can't handle the lines and you're not sure they can handle the dark/close conditions. Go to the exit, ask the CM if you can go into the Marine Outpost Observation room...there is usually very little to NO wait. It is the 'view' you'd get if you were to actually ride in the subs in the comfort of a very nicely themed small theater like room, two benches and a space for wheelchairs in the middle. It was designed for those with issues in riding the subs, be it a physical challenge or whatever invisible disability might make being in the sub an uncomfortable or impossible choice for your group. If you go into the M.O.O. and your toddler hates it you can exit as if it were a show, you're not committed to sticking it out until the show is over.

For our toddler it's all about the characters. In the past year we have had 4 trips where there was no riding at all.

For me, the character interaction is the best part.

On our first trip with Ds he was 16 months old, second trip he was 2 1/2. We spent hours on both in ToonTown! He loved touching everything, watching other people play around and all the buildings. He really liked playing in the water in DCA (if it's not too cold) and we must have ridden on Heimlich's at least 30 times. We danced to bands in Tomorrowland, ate popcorn waiting for parades and just went at his pace.

If you go slow and make it all about the little ones, it's so much fun! Now that he's 5, it's all about the rides and he wants to go go go all day long.

We took our daughter to Tom Sawyer's Island (before Pirates makeover) and let her run about.

If you are going over the holidays, try Big Thunder Ranch. They have some cute photo ops for Halloween and Christmas, as well as activities and a ranch animals to watch. For Christmas, Santa is there and they have reindeer.

In DCA, Bugs' Land was fun too. She later liked the Monsters, Inc. ride.

Both my kids loved playing with the fountains at the DLR when they were toddlers. The two in Toon Town were big hits with them.

Don't forget the train and Monorail, although the dino diorama might be a bit much for some toddlers.

Thank You for all the great ideas! I have always gone with adults and may have overlooked some of these toddler friendly things mentioned. We are going in December so we'll be sure to see Santa too.

My kids have always liked riding the vehicles on Main Street. It is great fun to ride on the old-fashioned fire truck (and you get a sticker as a Jr. Fireman!), the double decker bus (sit in the front on the top level for a birds' eye view), and the horse-drawn tolleys.

Be sure to stop on Main Street to see what's being made in the Candy Kitchen too. That's fun too.

One of the best places to go with a toddler is the Baby Care Center, just off Main Street. There are wonderful changing tables and mini potties, just the right size for little ones. It might not be the most fun place, but it sure makes some of those essential changes nice!

Ds3 loves playing in the yard at Goofy's house and the water "park" in Bug's Land (if it's warm enough). He also loved the rides other people mentioned. His favorite ride is Astro Orbiter although I think that will change if he's tall enough for Star Tours next trip.

Second this. There are lots of toddler rides in California Adventure. Playhouse Disney is great too.

Peter Pan fits 2 adults and one child in the ships. Alice In Wonderland lets you have one adult in the front, and the child and adult in the back. Rides like Tea Cups, Storyland Canal Boats, POTC, IASW, and I'm sure others that I am not thinking of would accomodate the 3 of you in the same vessel.

Rides that are only for 1 adult and 1 child are rides like Dumbo, HM, and MTWR. Again, there are others that just aren't coming to mind.

There is usually only just me, my DH and DD4 who go to DLR, we have a little routine of who rides what rides with DD4. Either way, there is a lot for your toddler to do..Have fun!!

Hmm...

On Dumbo, I have ridden 2 adults one child many times before. Not sure if that is "legal" but no one has ever questioned it. Same with Haunted Mansion (in fact, I think I have even gone on with 2 other adults; squishy yes, but doable).
