I was sad today thinking about how the Ponderosa is closed. Has anyone else been there? My Dad raised us on Bonanza, and I have such great memories of visiting the Ponderosa.

Wow...how sad, I didn't know that it was being closed. Was it from low tourism? I am also from the Bay Area and visited there several times while growing up. My dad is also a Bonanza watcher, he still watches it on TVLand. The other place I used to go with my parents is to Boom Town have you ever been there?

They were making money, but it was seasonal, only open during the summer, and when you think about that amazing property and how valuable it was, it just didn't make sense any more to sit on that kind of $$$$$ land. They're developing it :(. I think they should have made it into a historical site or a national park or something.

OMG, YES, we (my brother, cousin, me and our parents) used to go there when we were little. It's a shame it's gone!
