I have planned a trip to WDW for the first week in February, specifically the 1st through the 7th. Reservation have already been made at the Wilderness Lodge for one of the jr suites as those traveling will be me, my wife, my 5 month old son and his baby sitter so having the extra room for the baby sitter (17 years old) is extremely important. Currently the reservations are at rack room rates but I was hoping to get a discount code to apply to the reservation, can anyone suggest if I should go the AP route and then change from the AP code if a newer non AP code becomes available or just wait if a non AP code is due out soon? And does any know if these rooms are even available for the discount codes or if they only discount the standard rooms.
I am also toying with the idea of flying down late on the 31st and spending the night at one of the AS hotels as even with the nights hotel stay it looks like cheaper flight prices on that friday night will make up for the cost of the room.
Thanks

My wife and I will be there at the same time you guys will. Seemed early Feb. was the way to go to get cheaper rates and to avoid giant crowds. Hopefully we'll have good weather.
Have you ever been to WDW during the first week of Feb.?

Feb is a great time to be in WDW. I've been there 3 times before in Feb one of which was during College Program 96. Coming from Boston the temps have always been a relief even when it got down to 40 for a few nights. My favorite part about going in the colder times of the year is they occasionally have my favorite live act performing, the living statues in the Italy pavilion. Hope you have a great time. This is my first time with kids so it'll be a big change.

We don't have kids yet, so any tips you might have for a couple at D-World would be appreciated. I'm sorry I don't have much in the way of answers to your questions, but being first-timers I don't know too much about rates.
We figure the weather should be great, maybe a little chilly for us, since we're from Vegas.

Book the AP discount RIGHT AWAY! You can always change it later, but once those rooms are sold out (and for specials like junior suites it won't take long), you're out of luck.
The weather should be ideal. Upper 70s during the day, low 50s at night. Of course it could be summer sweltering heat or Boston-like cold, but that's the unpredictability of Florida in winter.
For couples traveling without kids, DEFINITELY plan to spend some time at Pleasure Island!
