15 Hour Disney and California Adventure Marathon :fez:

Start Time: 7:30 am
End time: 11:30 pm
1 Day Hopper Tickets for $68 each
Trip Date 8/10/08

I haven’t been to Disneyland in 10 years, and there have been so many changes since then. Back then the parking lot was still a parking lot and not the amazing California Adventure.

The one constant that is there is the fun, excitement and the huge turkey legs, they’re still there and taste great!

The Hotel:

We were looking at the usual Disney Hotels on Katella and harbor, but they price in range from over $100 and the under $100 were equal to Roach Motels From my favorite Website yelp.com, I found the Double Tree Hotel Off the City Street by The Block Shopping center. I got it on priceline for $77 a night, and when you check in they give free warm cookies. The hotel has a free shuttle to Disneyland that takes 10 minutes to get there. The shuttle leaves at 7:30 am initially and at 8, 9, and 10 respectively and leaves Disneyland at 8:15, 9:15 and 10:15 respectively. I like this hotel because its far from the noisy streets of katella and harbor plus its quiet because mostly business people stay at this hotel. The only downside of this hotel is the $12 parking, but that was alleviated when I parked across the street next to Wendy’s and Best Buy. Its safe because the whole time I was there, a motorcycle officer used the lot to hide and catch speeding drivers on Manchester Ave. So ITS DEFINITELY SAFE. :~D

Disneyland and California Adventure

We got on the shuttle at 7:30 and got to Disneyland at 7:45 am, we had 15 minutes to spare. At 8 am – THE GATES OPEN!! We skipped the glittering Welcome to Disneyland because we could go there anytime afterwards. We headed to tomorrowland, and we went on Buzzlight year rides, it was very interactive. From there off to Space mountain, a very short line to ride, then Nemo, it was a long line even at 8:30 am, we finished in one hour. Headed over to Honey I shrunk the audience. After that we had breakfast at the Califronia Café and had the croissanwich. From there we got the fast passes at for Indiana Jones and got the 12:15 to 1:15 times for the ride. To kill the time between rides, we went to It’s a Small world, but its closed, so we headed to Mickeys toon town, and headed to Mickey Mouses house, met Mickey. By the time we were done, it was 12:50 and only had 20 minutes to make it for our Indiana Jones ride. Wow those fast passes are definitely worth it, we got to the ride from the entrance in less than 5 minutes. That was a fun ride, bumpy, scary and exciting. :cool:From there we went on Pirates of the Caribbean, shorter than I remember and they changed a lot of things on the ride. Plus Johnny Depp was dead on at the end of the ride. From there we went Haunted mansion, it was as great as ever.

It was at 2:30 pm and we decided to check out the California park. We were taking pictures of the CALIFORNIA SIGN and we asked a passing Cast Member named Justyne, he took our picture and suggested we take a picture inside of the Golden Gate Bridge, and he was going to follow us in and take our picture. What a thoughtful and caring guy. From there we ate at the weiner stand on Hollywood Blvd. We got fast passes for the tower of doom. From there we went to it’s a Bugs Life, that was a lot of fun especially the poke in the back and the moving insect on the seats. From there we went to get fastpasses for the screamer coaster. We still had time before the tower of terror fast passes were up and we went o the Ferris wheel, that was awesome, it moved as we were stopped on rails. We got to the tower of terror and the ride leads you to the bottom basement of the hotel and gets you to the haunted elevator, SCARRRY :D. From there we went to the roller coaster screamer that was a lot of fun and you make a loop on mickey’s head!! We checked the schedule and we saw that the Parade of Dreams was on and we quickly headed back to Disneyland to watch it, amazing, I especially liked the Lion King float that had 2 twirling and acrobatic dancers on ropes. From there we headed back to California adventure to watch the electrical parade.

By this time it was time for the electrical parade at 8:45 pm, that was so much fun. After the parade we went to Disneyland and just make the 9:30 fireworks, that was very magical, its best to see it from main street Disneyland looking at the Castle. From there it was a mad rush to head to the front of the Pirate of the Carribean for the best viewing of Fantasmic. It was great. By 11:15 we were done and were like wounded happy soldiers that came from war but were very happy, tired satisfied as we climbed into the shuttle :)
