What is the best way to get from Pop Century to the Contemporary hotel? I have ADR at Chef Mickey's for dinner, but we'll probably leave from Pop Century. Thanks in advance.

Drince88 07-14-2008, 03:22 PM Assuming you mean using Disney transportation: Bus to the MK and then either monorail to the Contemporary - or walk. Go the other direction from the buses than the MK entrance - you can see the hotel, to know you're going in the right direction. Stitch2007 07-14-2008, 03:35 PM Yes, I meant via Disney bus...Thanks danyoung 07-15-2008, 08:13 AM If you're travelling at a time when the Magic Kingdom isn't either opening or closing (meaning that the crowd at the monorails won't be miles long!), go for the monorail. It's a really fun way to enter the Grand Canyon Concourse in the middle of the Contemporary. And at the exit of the monorail, just take the escalator down one floor (which is the normal exit) and you're right there on the 4th floor, where Chef Mickey's is located. And at the end of your meal you can enjoy a trip on the monorail all around the Seven Seas Lagoon. You can even get off at the Poly and the Grand Floridian and look around if you have the time. Enjoy! disneygirl17 07-16-2008, 09:20 AM I use this website to navigate with Disney transportation. http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx you need to scroll to the bottom but you will see a wizard to give you suggestions and times. mdrausch 07-16-2008, 01:49 PM I use this website to navigate with Disney transportation. http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx you need to scroll to the bottom but you will see a wizard to give you suggestions and times. Not to completely derail this thread, but I checked on that website getting from the Magic Kingdom to Hollywood Studios (basically a random grab). All the options that came back involved taking a bus (or monorail) to a resort, and then jumping on that resort's bus to Hollywood Studios. I thought there were buses that went directly between the parks (i.e. get on bus at MK, get off at DHS)? Am I wrong? Just curious Drince88 07-16-2008, 02:42 PM I thought there were buses that went directly between the parks (i.e. get on bus at MK, get off at DHS)? Am I wrong? Just curious Slightly. Buses to other parks from the MK aren't at the MK, they're at the TTC. I'd still think they'd have you go from MK to the TTC via either monorail or ferry, and then bus to the Studios. Other park-to-park are all direct. mdrausch 07-17-2008, 07:03 AM Slightly. Buses to other parks from the MK aren't at the MK, they're at the TTC. I have always done Park - Break - Park layout to my days so never park hopped directly from one park to another (except for EPCOT and MK or vice versa I guess). Cheshire Figment 07-17-2008, 08:44 AM To get to CR from any non-monorail resort take a bus to MK. If the bus is close to empty, and you ask the driver nicely, you may get let off at the entrance to the CR parking lot. Once you get off the bus at MK you will find that the walk to the CR main enrance is about the same length as the walk to the platform at the MK monorail station. bav052299 07-30-2008, 10:11 AM We will also be traveling from Pop Century to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey however our ADR is at 7:15 in the morning. Will bus transportation take us to Magic Kingdom that early, or is there a better option? Drince88 07-30-2008, 10:21 AM For early morning ADRs, it's best to talk with guest services at your resort for options. Supposedly they do offer very limited bus service for people with really early ADRs. And, if you ask nice, the bus driver going to the MK MAY stop off at the Contemporary and let you off there so you don't have to walk from the bus stop! And by very limited, I mean 'you have to be at the bus stop at X time', and so you do need to arrange it ahead of time (i.e., the day before). And if you're going to the Contemporary, mention that, but if they seem flustered or "We don't have resort to resort transportation" just let them know you just need to get to the MK bus stop and you'll walk from there. bav052299 07-30-2008, 10:29 AM Awesome, thanks so much! We are getting so excited, just 3 days left!! |
