If you are wanting a value room I would go with POP. Why I think it has a really neat theme that all ages can relate to. My girlfriend from high school (graduated '69) and I were there in April and we had a blast walking the resort looking at all the icons. Example, big wheel, laptop, jutebox, cell phone, Lady and the Tramp, Roger Rabbit. The main building has shadow boxes with all kinds of pictures and stuff from back in the day, pezz depensers, first cell phone, Super Man. There is just so much I can't list it all.It will put a smile:) on your face and bring back so many memories. Isn't that what Disney is about... memories. Just remember it's a value resort it's not the Grand Floridian or one of those. Check out previous messages one of them has pictures posted.
Port Orleans French Quarter would be my second choice, not as big, very lust grounds and very relaxed. I like it much better than Riverside I think because it is smaller.
I've never stayed in a deluxe room, really had no desire as I would rather spend my $$ in the park.
Not sure what kind of $$ you want to spend but these would be my choices. I've stayed in other value All Star Sports and Music, POP still my choice.
If you have AAA you can save as much as $50 a night., it's worth the membership.Once you decide where you want to stay book your room all you need to do is pay one night deposit. POP sells out quickly and there aren't alot of AAA rates once they are gone they are gone. You can always change your mind and switch to another resort if you decide you want something else, but remeber the AAA may not be available. Friday and Saturday nights are more expensive. We plan our trips thru the week crowds are down. September should be a nice time to go but still can be hot.
keep us posted on where you plan to stay

What kind of adults are going? Singles who want there own beds? 3 sets of Couples who do/don't mind sharing a room? Or possibly a combo of both?

A two bedroom suite (in a DVC Resort) sleeps 8 people plus 1 child under 3 years old in a pack n' play.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, the second bedroom has two queen (full?) size beds and the couch in the living room is a queen sized sleeper.
It also has-
*a full kitchen stocked with just about every thing you would need to do meals in your room

*a washer and dryer

*master bath has a separate room with the toilet, a room with a sink and shower and another room with a whirl pool tub, sink and the MBR closet

*second room has it's own standard bathroom and possibly its own kitchenette depending on if it is a dedicated 2 BR or a lock off 2 BR (a studio that connects through a door to a 1 BR)

POPs sounds like fun. We used AAA last time I was not happy with their service, I was planning on booking on my own. I agree with saving $$ for use in parks, I will keep you posted on where we stay and my plans. Thank you for your help

It will be 3 couples, my 2 married daughters, husbands, and grandchild. would you please explain more about DVC, how it works and the cost envolved ( sorry times I wish there was a spell checker on the foums)

Thank you for your help

You do not need to be a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) member to stay at the resorts. The following are DVC Resorts-
Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Fort Wilderness, Beach Club & Boardwalk.

You can call and make reservations through the same number as any other reservation or I think you can book on line. They can be a bit pricey but if you are planning to spend time in the room for naps for the little one it is nice to have a separate room to put her/him in and be able to have space to relax with out having to be super quiet so you don't disturb nap time, or even at bed time the baby can get to sleep while you all hang out in the living room or out on the balcony. The cost would not be as bad if you are splitting it among the 3 couples. I am not too sure about actual pricing as I use my points to get rooms but you could look on the Disney website for ideas for your time frame.
If you want more info on becoming a memeber go to the DVC section of this board and ask all the quwstions you have and you will get answers from the few members on this board.

Ps- the spell check in your toolbar should work in here if the spell check in here doesn't.

You do not have to book through AAA to get the rate. Just ask for it when you make your reservation. I would have saved some money on my last trip BUT...I had to change dates and then there were no more rooms for the special rate.

Is it necessary to stay in disney? Will you have a car? With that many folks and that time of year you could likely get a good deal on a vacation house rental. They are very common around Disney and for that many may price less then rooms, it's my preferred way to go for large groups.
