Since the wife and I will be onboard for the Magic's 10th anniversary in July (while it's cruising out of San Pedro), we were wondering if anyone was on the Magic for it's 5th anniversary and if DCL did anything special?

I know they have pins and other stuff, but did they do anything onboard?

I hear that Chuy and Danielle will be performing to a standing-room only crowd in the Walt Disney Theater. Preludes will be offering a 4-for-1 drink special just prior to the show. ;)

Please don't do that while I'm drinking.

Please.

I've already replaced one keyboard this week.

Not only that but Danielle will be dancing! So everyone's being treated to a side performance of the hip-hop stylings of Dani B! Awesome!

In the meantime, be sure to reminisce with this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJLYW8RPf0k). :~D

JohnGar, it's obvious that the folks at MousePlanet don't have a constructive answer to your question.

May I suggest that you take your question to DISboards.com, which has an excellent forum on Disney Cruise Lines and a huge, knowledgeable membership. Here's a link to their Cruise forum:

http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4

Sign up and post your question there, I guarantee that you'll receive real information instead of silly jokes.

Seriously Barbossa, was that necessary? We aren't "in competition" with the Dis boards. My husband participates in their cruise discussion forum, and we invited their members to play MouseAdventure on the High Seas during the repo. There's no need for inter-board snark.

The OP asked a simple question about DCL's 10th anniversary cruise but got some giggly side conversation about lounge singers and Joey Fatone. I'm sure he's heard plenty of that type of rude banter in high school. No joke MP isn't in competition with DISboards. At DISboards you can actually get a straight answer to a DCL question. If you don't like "inter-board snark", as you put it, then you should have answered the OP's question in the first place.

Yes, and I'm good friends with the OP (off the boards - imagine that!) and teased him with an inside joke about our shared experiences on the recent Canal Crossing. It's been a bit of a running gag for us. He even responded by emailing me the photo that has made up my current avatar.

You're so right. That was really rude of me. I guess I was too caught up in having real relationships with friends to even pay attention to the obviously far more important "message board etiquette". I obviously need to get my priorities straight.

(I would have posted the eye-roll smiley to go with it, but it's not expressive enough as to what I'm actually thinking right now. In fact, I like pancakes, with lots and lots and lots of syrup.)

then you should have answered the OP's question in the first place.I'll be sure to post all future in-person conversations with members back to the boards here so you can be assured that questions are being appropriately answered.

As an occasional participant of Mousepad who doesn't have the privilege of knowing people personally on the boards or the knowledge of previous conversations that have occurred outside of the thread, I also found the comments after the OP's question a little unusual. The perception of the responses seemed flippant, as if one didn't care about the OP's question. DH and I were truly curious to find out the answer, since we would be missing the Magic's 10th anniversary by one week. We wanted to know if there was any activity we would be missing.

Please keep in mind that there are those of us who are not members of the obviously close-knit group of some Mousepadders that frequent this board to find information. In all honesty, if I were new to MousePad in search of the same answer to the OP's question, came across this thread and found these responses, I'd probably go to another website and not come back.

Yes, there are those who will say, "Go ahead...we don't care," (the rolling eyes smiley icon or some other icon will used, I'm sure) but then, why bother having a public website/forum if it alienates potential newbies to Mousepad in search of information? Perhaps this is why there isn't as much traffic on Mousepad as there used to be when I first joined. Or maybe I'm missing the point of why Mousepad exists. Just something to think about....

For the fifth they revamped a lot of the programs, but I think everything is place already ... I know there will be pins and other merchandise. :)

Probably a special deck party (even at DL's 50th we all got cupcakes in the park).

Maybe they will FINALLY announce details about the new ships (onboard the ship via the Ariel view)

I'm not holding my breath on that one. It would be nice, yes, but I don't expect anything along these lines til mid-late 2009. I think they're gonna play it real close to the vest as long as possible.

Hi!! We're gonna be on the 10th Anniversary Cruise Also.

The official response from DCL, is that there is nothing special for the anniversary. I sent an email online and received this response:

But like you said, they do already have pins and stuff, so that are at least acknowledging it some.
