View Full Version : Is Cinderella's Royal Table worth it? mikala 06-04-2008, 11:04 PM We have paid for Cinderella's Royal Table for 8, 4 a & 4 k. We missed it last time, but now have 3 little girls 4,2,1 in our party. Need some advice on how it is..... mom22gls 06-04-2008, 11:30 PM If you are going for breakfast or lunch, you get the full princess treatment. Cinderella is not there for dinner. We have been several times, and my daughters love it. There is just something special about going to the castle. You enter, and get your picture taken with Cinderella. Then you go upstairs and are seated. The food isn't bad, if you are going for breakfast, especially, it is quite overpriced for what you get, but it's not about the food. Your daughters will get a wand and a wishing star to keep. You eat, and the princesses come around to your table for pictures and signatures. Your younger ones may or may not appreciate the character interaction. They do a little wishing ceremony at the end-stick around for this. If your oldest child is all about the princesses, as mine were at that age, then it's worth it. For adults, it's fine. I recently took my parents. THpoohbear 06-05-2008, 09:54 AM The two times I've gone to CRT were both for dinner, and included only adults. The first time I went, we got the best table and the whole meal seemed absolutely magical! I loved what I ordered, DH thought it was just okay. The second meal we weren't quite as entertained and didn't enjoy our meals as much. At dinner they don't have the princesses, but the fairy godmother and Perla and Suzzie (Suzza - what is the mouse's name!?) dance around a do a little show. I think it's cute. The mice did stop at the tables long enough to get photos. I prefered the photos ops with the mice, but I'm sure since you have little girls in your party they'll be more interested in face time with the princesses. All that to say, I absolutely loved going there for the first time. If/when I have daughters and we get to go to WDW, I'll definitley be dining there again. I think the girls will love it, and if you choose the more basic items on the menu they should be pretty tasty. Not gourmet, but tasty. Definately worth it for the experience. And oh, will any of you be celebrating anything special when you are there? Birthday? Anniversary? If so, make sure you let them know when you check in or have noted on your ressie. Also, don't forget since you have a party of 8 I think you will get two photo packages included with the price of your meal. I say go for it! And have a great trip! mom22gls 06-05-2008, 10:16 AM I don't know how much character exposure your little ones have had, but really little kids are sometimes intimidated by non-human characters. My younger daughter was really upset by any characters, who were not obviously human, when she was 2, maybe till she was 4 or 5. We did the Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Faire, which, at the time, had the mice, and my younger daughter would have nothing to do with them. She also was scared by Mickey Mouse, Chip and Dale, etc. She really freaked out at Liberty Tree Tavern when Meeko showed up without Pocohantas. Out of context of the movie, it was just a giant raccoon to her. She was fine with the princesses. Just a thought, for your planning, and character interaction in the parks. A lot of beloved characters are just oversized rodents to a toddler. scoobydooby 06-05-2008, 12:21 PM I haven't been to Cinderella's Royal table yet but am taking my 6 year old daughter in August for breakfast. We have reviewed the menu together and she has told me she will be eating yoghurt  Is it worth it? We're going because her dream is to get inside the castle, so yes, I'm sure it will be. I don't think it's a meal you book on the grounds of the food really! mikala 06-05-2008, 09:59 PM Thanks for all your replies. My niece that is 4 is not afraid of anything. She rides ZTower of Terror. My two monkeys, 1 and 2, also have been very exposed to characters, human and nonhuman. I am very excited about this, and know we will have a great time. ALthough they have never been to WDW, they have been to Disneyland 4 trips this year alone. Can't wait for the pics. Does photopass take pics here? KJSJpipe 06-06-2008, 04:56 AM Can't wait for the pics. Does photopass take pics here? They do take pictures, you can find them all over most of the parks. The only one I have not seen many at is Epcot, but I was able to get some pictures in France last year and they usually have a few in site of the Ball. Here is a link to the Discounted Photo Pass CD site: Click me! (http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx) I would recommend getting the Pre ordered CD for your trip. If you plan on buying a few pics it will cover the cost of the CD and you will have all the pictures taken the whole 10days you are there, and you can add borders and stuff to them. I would also recomend this site: Stich Kingdom (http://stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/) for the tons of info about how to use Photo Pass. Parktowne 06-06-2008, 12:53 PM My Mother (69) and I had dinner there last October. It was wonderful because it was something that I always wanted to do and never had a chance to. We had our picture taken with Cinderella before dinner. That is included in the price. Before you leave they bring you your pictures along with a photo of the castle itself. I have mine on my desk here at work. Definitely worth it to have the experience with your daughters. Breakfast is extremely hard to get - you must call at exactly 7am at 180 days out for any hope at all. nannyt 06-06-2008, 06:09 PM I hope to bring my 3 grand-daughters in March .2009. :|Parktowne you said to call at exactly 7 I live in Canada and I'm wondering if there is a time difference. Will 7 here be 7 in Florida? When calling can I ask for any day that has an opening or do I have to be specific? I will be in Florida for 10 days IslandDisneyGirl 06-06-2008, 07:21 PM Aloha, Just got back from our May Anniversary trip to WDW and got the chance to eat at the Royal Table. We (Hubby and myself - no kids) ate there for our Anniversary night after I got my hair done at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (sorry if I spelled it wrong). Like everybody says we did let them know that it was our Anniversary so we had carriage and castle confetti on our table which was by the window. What a view!! Dinner was good. I had the salmon and hubby had the prime rib. Like others have said the Fairy Godmother and the mice came out during dinner and did a little show which was cute, no autographs but got to take pictures. Oh yeah, when our server bought our bill/receipt she also gave us a bag and said it's fragile and Happy Anniversary. Don't know if this is the norm or part of a Dream. Anyway... the gift ended up being glass champaigne glasses that say Cinderella's Royal Table. Now would I do this again... Yes!!! I know it's costly but to be in the castle, but the view is worth it and the atmosphere.... Yes I would do it again. It was a nice end to our Anniversary trip. Drince88 06-07-2008, 03:56 AM I hope to bring my 3 grand-daughters in March .2009. :|Parktowne you said to call at exactly 7 I live in Canada and I'm wondering if there is a time difference. Will 7 here be 7 in Florida? When calling can I ask for any day that has an opening or do I have to be specific? I will be in Florida for 10 days It's 7:00 Orlando time. Orlando is on Eastern time, which is the same time zone as Toronto and Montreal. So if it's the same time in Canada as in Orlando depends on if you're talking New Brunswick, Victoria, or somewhere in between! Also, I'm not sure if it's selling out quite so fast as it used to, but I still wouldn't risk it. If you're staying on site, call 180 days before the first day of your trip, and see if there's any availability for any of the days you want. If you're staying offsite, you'd need to do it every day, 180 days out. One reason I don't think they're selling out quite so fast is they've increased the price, and added characters to other meals (though at different levels) - so they've increased the supply, and also increased the price to where a lot of people have said, "No, it's not worth it to me". I think the dining plan also helped when they made it 2 credits for all three meals - many people on the dining plan aren't willing to use two table service credits for one meal, no matter how cool it is to eat IN the castle. nannyt 06-09-2008, 09:44 AM Thanks Drince88! I hope I can get into the castle for a meal. It is going to be a surprise for the 3 of them so I will be the one disapponted :crying:if I can't get in. misdisney 06-10-2008, 08:57 PM I called Disney dining and they were nice enough to tell me when I could call back to make my ADR's. I think it depends also on when you going to WDW, the 10 days we are there CRT filled up fast and I tried to change my resv for a different time and it was sold out. So if I were you I would make sure to call the minute its avaible to you . Good luck! mikala 06-10-2008, 11:17 PM Well you guys got me all excited. We have paid and confirmed for September 08, lunch for 8. Half of our group is 4 under 4. We expose the girls to alot, and I am way excited. HTanner 06-11-2008, 02:01 PM I have been twice for dinner. The first time was before they decided to have the characters at every meal. We got the table right by the window and the food was wonderful. Then we went 2 years ago with my kids and it was horrible. It was so bad, our waiter brought us completely melted ice cream desserts, pasta for the kids with butter dripping off the plate, and cold soup. We were happy to get the ice cream because it was so hot in there - and then all the characters disappeared and the waitstaff started cleaning and vacuuming around us like we weren't even there! NOT magical at all - and the bill was $140 for that service!! rentayenta 06-12-2008, 12:01 PM I think it's highly overrated. :crying: I wanted to love it, I really did but I found the food marginal and the character interaction sparse. It was neat being inside the castle but not that neat. We won't do it again. |
