I won but I can not go, June 9, 4 to 10 PM. So if anyone would like me to email you my certificate you can have it and give it a try. I know for Nemo when I got my tickets for the sneak preview (which I did not win, I just walked up and asked them if we could go on, and they said yes), they did not ask anyone for the AP number, just the ticket and that you did have an AP. So it maybe worth a try, all they can say is NO, right. Oh it is for 6 people.

I sent it to your email address, let me know if you do not get it. Also, if you won't be using yours maybe you can share it with someone else to pass on the magic and let it never end.

But if they dont' check the AP number on the email couldn't you print out ten copies and give them to all your friends? Somethign doesn't seem right here.

I thought about that, and it may be true. Does anyone know how they confirm your party? Do they check off names? Will I need the actual AP that was used?

They do seem easy to forge unless they check against a computer or their own list. I would hate to get there and be turned away, or worse, be in trouble.

Just chiming in here:

Based on what I was told (and according to the rules), the AP who won will need to be present to exchange the e-mail confirmation for the ride voucher. Since I didn't win I can't look at the e-mail they sent you, so someone else should check theirs. I was told the e-mail confirmation should have your name and AP number printed on it. If this is the case, then expect them to check against your physical AP when you go to exchange the e-mail for the ride voucher thingie.

I'm surprised the emails don't say "non-transferable" if that was the case? I'll be at toy story mania this saturday and I may have an extra ticket or two, and I'd offer them up except for the fact that it says non-transferable on the ticket.

My email says:

Congratulations Victoria Cxxxxxxxx! Get your spring-action shooter loaded and ready for fun!
You have been selected to participate in the Toy Story Mania! Annual Passholder Sneak Peek at Disney's California Adventure® Park. Here are the details of your time slot:
Date: June 10, 2008
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Total Party Size: 6
Annual Passport Barcode Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Please print this e-mail and present it - along with a valid Disneyland® Resort Annual Passport for each member of your party - to the West Information Booth at least 30 minutes before your time slot. The West Information Booth is located between the Picnic Area and La Brea Bakery Cafe, on the Downtown Disney® District side of the Disneyland® Main Entry Plaza.
We look forward to seeing you on June 10, 2008!
Your Pals at Disneyland® Resort

Now, I see no reason why I couldn't change the name and AP number before printing it, but I assumed they would be verifying it against a list they have at the info booth. Otherwise, like I said, I coudl email it to all my AP friends, they could insert their name and number and everyone could get in.

They do say that and in my original post I said it was worth a try all they can say is no. I was in DL for Nemo the first day it previewed for AP. I watched as others claimed there ticket and I have to say I did not see anyone check the numbers, but I can not guarentee (sp) that they didn't. All I did was walk up and asked for a ticket, I did not win or anything. They did not ask for my AP pass or for my confirmation or anything, they just handed me a ticket and we got on. When you figure about 1000 people or more in the 5 hour period, I think they get tired and just start handing them out without checking to closely. But I was honest and stated that it was worth a try and you may get told NO, and I did not charge for the email. At Nemo there where so many AP that won that did not show up or the lines went down and they need more riders or whatever but I heard many people say they just walked up and asked for a ticket to ride and they got one.

Oh I will say when I walked up to Nemo it was towards the end of the day, like 830 to 9:00, I just remember we were heading to the monorail and it was just starting to get dark. The line to Nemo was very short, we got our ticket and was on the ride in just a few minutes. I think that they just did not have enough winners to fill the ride at that time of day, they all waited earlier and now the ride was empty. This time it does seem more people won so maybe they learned there lesson from Nemo and will have it differently.

Listen, anytime I post warnings like this it isn't because I'm trying to be a stick-in-the-mud Debbie Downer, it's because I'm the one who gets to field phone calls from the Disneyland Resort when people show up and try to do something saying "Well, I read on MousePlanet...."

As I said in the other post, the actual operational practice may vary once the previews actually begin, but it's better to know what the rules are upfront so you're not upset if they are enforced.

Gilesmt, I think it was extremely sweet of you to offer your tickets, but I want people to understand what the situation is likely to be when they try to redeem them.

VickiC, I was told that they are checking the AP and the e-mail confirmation, but that you *can* give the tickets away once you redeem them. I'm asking for clarification as to whether you can give them to a non-AP, or if they will be checking APs at the attraction. (They did for Nemo)

More info: they will be checking names against a master list of winners.

Thanks for the update. I am picking mine up myself and everyone in my party has an AP, so no worries here. I just didnt' want others making a long drive and being disappointed.

Not too sound too self-righteous but I think there's a huge difference between showing up and saying, "Hey I didn't win but I'm here, I have an AP, do you have room?" and trying to sneak in with someone else's winning email, KWIM?

Well I am pretty sure we won't make it in time but once we are there I am going to ask to see if I can have a slot on a diffrent day. Never hurts to ask I guess.
